Art therapy is a lot like traditional talk therapy, but with the sensory, kinesthetic, and symbolic dimensions added by the creative process. Using materials and techniques in art therapy allows for the exploration of thoughts and feelings beyond verbal expression alone. No artistic experience required!
Art therapy is an integrative approach that incorporates techniques informed by other psychotherapy approaches such as CBT, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy to address client goals and concerns.
