Through the use of EMDR, mind/body healing approaches, and holistic empowerment, I help clients to stabilize and strengthen themselves, heal trapped stress and trauma, bring the nervous system back into balance, discover self compassion, and recover positive patterns of thinking, feeling, being, and doing.
When things go wrong in life, we can get knocked off center, struggle to stay afloat, or lose our way. Sometimes we may feel we've moved on from life's hardships, but negative reactions and reoccurring thoughts and feelings can continue to reel us back, making the present feel like an ongoing struggle. Our minds, bodies, and nervous systems are remembering the memories of distressing life events, even when we don't consciously think of them every day. We get stuck in anxiety and depression- symptoms of inadequately processed, stuck distress from our lives, both past and present.

Have you experienced trauma in your life, whether a childhood abuse, a natural disaster, an auto accident, or military? Any of these can create anxiety, depression and a host of other symptoms.
What are you looking for in a therapist? A supportive, trusted voice? An empathetic ear? A sense of humor? Someone who's therapy space creates both safety...and confidence? I strive to bring all of the above to my clientele. I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist, with a family of my own. As I bring my practical experience of marriage (and raising kids) to my practice, I am continually inspired by the courage and open-heartedness of my clients; as we set out, co-conspiring toward change and healing. Trauma is defined as "a deeply distressing or disturbing experience". Traumatic events are life changing. Living with constant fear and anxiety as a result can be debilitating; making it difficult to connect with others and navigate the world around us. I specialize in treating child and adolescent trauma as well as individuals and families. Early on in my career I worked with high profile trauma cases. This, paired with my experience working in the school setting and my deep curiosity of neuroscience has given me a unique set of clinical skills.

I have experience working with adults, children, and adoptive families which has allowed me to serve clients who have experienced trauma/loss, anxiety/depression, and even compounding developmental and physical struggles.
I work with adults, children, and families who hope to live life abundantly. During our work together, we will focus on improving quality of relationships with self and others. As we improve relational support, we will tie in core values and any spiritual beliefs to help encourage sustainable change. This process looks different for adults and children, but the heart of each human is the same- we hope to be loved, love others, and live life according to our values. Unfortunately, sometimes our painful past experiences create stress or other overwhelming feelings that hinder us from living life how we'd wish. That's where I come in.
