Hello! My name is Nicholas Steeves, and I am an intern at Lighthouse Counseling. I am particularly passionate about working with clients experiencing Grief, Bereavement, and Death and Dying issues. I am transitioning from a career as a Paramedic, and found that these issues really speak to my strengths. I am a Licensed Psychologist who provides therapy and psychological assessment/testing. In therapy, I use a variety of techniques that I tailor to the client and the issue being treated. However, research shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship, not the technique used, has more to do with successful outcomes. This is why I prioritize establishing and maintaining a healthy connection and trust. I am passionate about treating veterans and first responders (and their families), those with trauma, OCD, anxiety, and depression. My practice focuses on those dealing with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, grief, overuse of social media, men’s issues, communication issues and relationship stress, self-care, and the development/maintenance of a healthy spirituality. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups ranging from children, adolescents, and adults. I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology in 2019 from Concordia University Wisconsin and obtained a Master's Degree in Social Work in 2021 from the same University. I am a proud member of Phi Alpha Society and hold a Certified Advanced Practice Social Work (CAPSW) certificate.

Dr. Beran is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been providing evidence-based psychological care to individuals for the last 17 years. She received her PhD from the nation’s most highly rated clinical psychology program, UCLA, where she gained extensive experience helping people with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, chronic illness, trauma, and grief. A firm believer that academic knowledge is only part of what makes a quality therapist, Dr. Beran combines her in-depth psychological training with warmth, humor, and affection for her clients.
