I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a former Licensed Professional School Counselor with experience working with a wide range of clinical needs. I create a safe, healing environment that is focused on enhancing a client's resources and strengths. From this foundation, I help clients to identify their challenges and set goals so that they can begin to make changes that positively affect their lives and sense of self. I believe that treatment techniques must be based on the particular needs of the individual, and recognize that each individual is influenced by many factors within his/her environment.

At times, we need a direction in life-a "starting point" to guide us back into balance. The realization of this began for me personally after being diagnosed with breast cancer while I was pregnant with my first child. It was during this spiritual and life altering journey that I fully recognized that we all have the potential to create optimal health for ourselves, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I believe that all forms of healing are rooted in the mind, body and spirit. With guidance, we can harness these elements to invoke necessary change to step into our power of self healing.

I am passionate about helping parents, children, and individuals discover their strengths and build a foundation of mutual respect and compassionate communication. My approach is person-centered, which means our sessions will be unique to you and your strengths. Together, we will consider your current patterns and foster new possibilities for how you think, behave, and process emotions. We will also practice communication skills to use with your family, partners, and friends. This can be done through both family/group counseling, as well as on an individual level.

Are you feeling disconnected from yourself and others? Do you put your needs at the bottom of the to-do list? Do you wonder if life should feel somehow better? Now more than ever, people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed and uncertain about how they are supposed to manage their relationships, careers and their lives. Pushing away your needs and not taking time for yourself can lead to long-term issues for your mind and body. I believe it shouldn’t be so hard to live a better life.

You have made a courageous step towards achieving mental and emotional stability. The journey towards psychological wellness is a process, a maintenance. Similarly to weight loss and diabetes, mental and emotional health cannot be cured, but it be maintained successfully. I am a firm believer in the Biopsychosocial model of health and wellness. All parts of our being are inter-related from biological, psychological and social perspectives. If one area is unbalanced, the others follow suit.

Please visit therapyredeemed.wordpress.com/about/ for more info & resources! Have you ever wondered about your adoption story? Has there ever been doubt, fear, anger, pain or confusion when it comes up? What’s it been like for you to process your personal experience of birth family, loss, grief, race, identity, or even those seemingly benign curiosities about your narrative that come up from time to time? For parents, of course you want to help your children as they embark on that path. This can often feel uncertain or overwhelming, with so many subtle nuances that feel way too complicated to handle without appropriate support.

As a clinical psychologist I strive to provide a transformative experience that not only resolves the symptoms and issues that brought you to treatment, but also develops deeper insight and awareness that promotes lasting change. I work to collaborate with you to develop a plan for continued growth that reflects your life-long plans, goals, and unmet needs. To that end, I strive to facilitate an experience for you of change in those aspects of your life that are most meaningful to you, including your inner world, relationships, spiritual beliefs, work life and world views.

My work as a clinical psychologist is based on my belief that good psychotherapy can be a powerfully transformative experience. While resolution of the symptoms or issues that brought you to treatment is undoubtedly important, I also provide for my clients the opportunity to work in a manner that promotes lasting change and a deeper understanding of themselves. To that end, I strive to assist my clients in developing a sense of well-being that extends to all areas of their lives. This also translates into my work with couples, where new insights, skills, and ways of relating can lead to more meaningful and rewarding relationships.

In Letters to a Young Poet, Rainer Maria Rilke wrote, “For one human being to love another is perhaps the most difficult task of all, the epitome, the ultimate test. It is that striving for which all other striving is merely preparation.” His writing speaks to the immense psychological importance of our closest relationships. Partnering with another can be a wellspring of immense joy, and just as easily, can induce some of our greatest heartaches and challenges. I understand that couples need more than a good listener to help them navigate their way to healing. They need someone who can guide them toward reconnection and growth.
