Are you struggling to feel present in your life, or to feel connected with the people you care about, or to reach your long-term goals? Often these struggles stem from things outside our control like past traumatic experiences and systematic oppression. In my collaborative approach to therapy, we will refocus on the experiences, decisions, and actions within your control to move your life in the direction you want it to go. My experiences includes working with symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, anger, ADHD, addictions, and life transitions.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Portland State University. My approach to therapy draws on attachment theory, existentialism, narrative approaches, trauma research, and behavioral models like ACT. I use direct communication to identify unhelpful behavior patterns and offer opportunities for growth through immediacy, mindfulness, and creativity.
I believe the therapeutic relationship provides a safe place to engage with the most meaningful parts of our lives. This often involves exploring emotions and creating new ways to organize information. I offer a relationship of warmth and attentiveness to heal feelings of pain and nurture patterns of joy.
