Around my mid 20s I found myself feeling very lost in life. I had graduated college, but I didn’t know what to do with my degree, so I bounced from one meaningless job to another. While I was trying to figure out my purpose and direction, tragedy struck and in 2010 I lost my father to suicide, with no warning at all. In order to make peace with what happened, a few months later I applied to graduate school with the intention of getting into a field where I could help and possibly prevent people from having to experience what I experienced. I also realized I wanted to help people like my dad, who didn’t know how to ask for help.
I work with clients using a variety of methods such as: relational & somatic processing, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, acceptance & self-compassion. I support clients on developing healthy & safe communication styles & to understand their emotions instead of repressing or denying them.
Please remember that you don’t have to do this alone, I am here to support you while you work toward the goals you have. If we meet and you don’t feel the vibe is right, I am happy to provide referrals to many amazing therapists I know as well. The most important thing for me is that you get the help you want and need, even if that help doesn’t come from me.
