I specialize in therapy for moms, anxiety therapy for women, and parent counseling.
Hey mama, you’re rocking it… even when you tell yourself otherwise. Still, those precious moments in the bathroom, desperately scrolling on your phone for a mental escape, are not enough to recharge... especially if you haven’t been to the bathroom alone in months. The unexpected struggles of motherhood like overstimulation, feeling touched out, carrying the mental load, and moments of loneliness catch you off guard. For the new mom, experienced mom, overwhelmed mom, overstimulated mom, and even the 'is it bedtime yet?' mom – no matter where you are in motherhood, I help you rediscover balance, find joy, and thrive.

Do you feel there aren't enough hours in the day? Are you boggled down by the seemingly never-ending demands of work, home and lack of self-care? Balancing being a parent, friend, employee, partner leaving no room for being an individual? We often find ourselves depleted at the end of the day, and honestly, sometimes first thing in the morning! This can affect how we show up in life. Imagine waking to a feeling of peace instead of the overwhelming dread of an impossible to-do list that continues to grow and doesn't include you.

OPEN FOR NEW CLIENTS!! Are you carrying things with you that are affecting your everyday life; your work, your relationships, home life, parenting, your reactions, concentration, intrusive thoughts? You do not need to carry these things with you every day. They are weighing you down, and it is time for you to reset yourself. I work with individuals, couples, and families. Your particular needs determine which type of therapy works best. When working with couples and families I take a systemic approach. I view the "system" or interactions among one another as being faulty, not any particular individual.

I also specialize in couple’s counseling and family issues, including parenting and pre- or post-natal concerns.
We all experience hardships in life, whether it be a stressor, trauma, transition, or loss. In these times, it can be easy to lose sight of who we are and dismiss the things and the relationships that are most important to us. As an experienced therapist, my goal is to empower you to identify barriers, rediscover your core values, and let go of any self-limiting beliefs. I strive to foster a sacred therapeutic space where you can feel comfortable bringing your true and whole selves to each session.

Alesia is accepting new clients- Lately you have been worrying about things all the time and have been frustrated because as hard as you try not to, your anxiety is right there, all the time. Or maybe you have been replaying that event in your mind, you have tried to forget. You notice you are angrier, sadder and more worried. You just want to be able to live your life instead of having this issue get in the way daily. You just need someone to listen to you without judging you. Someone to help you deal with your issues. It would be nice to enjoy the things you used to. To connect with people more than you do now. To be a better you.

You’re at a crossroads in your life that demands that you show up as unapologetically YOU. But you’re uncertain how to embody that version of yourself. Or what that even means exactly. You’re intuitive, spiritual or highly sensitive, yet you can’t seem to apply those superpowers to your own life. You’ve heard a deeper call to integrate your shadow parts, release your past traumas and heal your inner child wounds, but the very thought feels overwhelming. You crave space mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually to relentlessly pursue your passions, and show up as your favorite version of yourself.

Parenting Therapists

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
