My focus throughout my career has been in Multi-systemic therapy (MST), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), CBT, Trauma and PTSD, domestic abuse, depression and anxiety, LGBTQ + Community, domestic violence, cultural concerns, sexual assault, parenting, and adolescent challenges.
I believe that everyone has their own journey that they are struggling with, and that often this journey is misunderstood and unidentified. I aim to help my clients understand their inner world, in order to help them understand how to help live a fulfilling and engaging life. I enjoy helping my clients understand the neurological basis of their actions, and help them change their response through a variety of interventions. I enjoy working with clients who recognize that their pain does not have to be their story, but can be the blocks on which they begin to recognize how to build a future that brings them joy.

I have spent my career specializing in child/adolescent therapy, but enjoy working with people of all ages! I have great interest in working with individuals with PTSD, and teens/adults who cope with pain using alcohol, drugs or self-harm.
A therapist has three jobs: to listen, to teach and to instill hope. I'd be grateful for the opportunity to do those things for you. I consider myself a "guardian of potential"-I see people beyond the problems that bring them to my office and for who they really are. I have the ability to "reach the unreachable". You may be nervous about trying therapy for the first time, or you may have had bad experiences in the past, but I believe in the power of human connection and I believe you no longer have to live in the pain or circumstances you've been in. The time for change has arrived!

Anxiety, stress and trauma are among the most common mental health issues but are also treatable. When left untreated, the symptoms can become debilitating. I have tools, resources and the genuine desire to help you move from viewing your life in grayscale to living in full color.

Anxiety, low self-esteem, addictive behaviors, and depression impact how we show up in our work and relationships, inhibiting our ability to reach our fullest potential. Sometimes we can feel too vulnerable talking to our friends and family about feelings of shame and guilt. Therapy is not only a safe, nonjudgemental space for expressing your concerns, but also an alliance that fosters positive change. Through unpacking the words of your inner critics, you have the opportunity to find your true self and experience self forgiveness, confidence, love, and acceptance.

You’re feeling overwhelmed and not sure what to do next (and the Netflix and ice cream aren’t cutting it). How you’ve been feeling has become so frustrating or debilitating that you started to Google therapists. You’re stuck not knowing what’s going on with yourself or even what to do about it. How great would it feel to be relieved of the pain you’re experiencing and feel confident in yourself. To get to a place where you get to be in control of your life again.

My approach is both collaborative and engaging working 'with' you and not just silently observing. Having worked with a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds, I've learned to customize my approach to best meet 'your' needs and not force you to fit a predetermined modality.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
