I began my career in social work and community activism. I worked as a child and family social worker, drug and alcohol counselor and treating eating disorders. After completing graduate studies/ Marriage and Family Therapist training, I entered private practice. I provide training on Problem Gambling and specialize in trauma and addictive-compulive behaviors. It is a gift and a mission to be able to help people attain their life goals. You feel like you're always on edge all the time. It feels like you're wound up like a top and never get to unravel and relax. Everything in your body hurts on the reg. You can't remember a day without pain and discomfort. Nothing helps, you've lost trust in going to the doctor, and you've begun to loathe your body. Everything else in your life is falling apart too because you BARELY have enough energy left at the end of the day. You've pretty much given up hope.

Trauma is defined as "a deeply distressing or disturbing experience". Traumatic events are life changing. Living with constant fear and anxiety as a result can be debilitating; making it difficult to connect with others and navigate the world around us. I specialize in treating child and adolescent trauma as well as individuals and families. Early on in my career I worked with high profile trauma cases. This, paired with my experience working in the school setting and my deep curiosity of neuroscience has given me a unique set of clinical skills.

Not accepting new clients
I am not accepting new clients at this time due to being at caseload capacity. Please email me if you would like to be added to the waitlist! .....Therapy is essential at times because we all hit rough spots that are beyond the scope of our natural support network of family and friends. I think that most people are aware of the solutions to their problems but require the therapist's help in devising the framework to solve them. I strive to gain insight into areas of concern and then work with clients to uncover blindspots and alter thoughts and behaviors that are preventing them from leading their best quality of life.

I founded my private practice on the principle of helping others create the life that they want. Often times that means resolving past trauma or issues that stand in our way. Change can be a difficult process, but with someone who understands how change occurs and the pitfalls that can hinder change it is possible. Every one deserves to be the person they want and I am here to help you on your journey of change and healing.

Daytime availability; Limited evenings. Anxious, stuck, lost, empty, and sad. You are not alone if any of these words resonate with you. Many of us learned to disconnect from the hurting or lonely parts of ourselves which can look like negative self-talk, overwhelm, unpredictable emotions, and relationship frustrations. I work with individuals who want to unlearn limiting beliefs, process past experiences, and reconnect with themselves, and folks exploring autism and identity. If you've ever been curious about how your past shapes your present, you're in the right place.

As a therapist, I so value the healing potential of human connection. Emotion and suffering are natural reactions to life, and the ability to sit with and process life’s challenges with another person can be a gift. Sharing moments of loss, shame, joy, and disappointment can lead to stronger self-acceptance and connection with others. I strive to be welcoming, open, and empathetic to all clients who walk through the door.

I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating and even a bit overwhelming. It’s also natural to be unsure about finding the right therapist for you. Everyone’s journey is unique and happens at their own pace. By being here, you've already taken the first step. If you think I could be a good fit for your path, don't hesitate to reach out.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
