My goal for therapy is to provide women with a safe and confidential space to talk about hard things, reduce stress, heal from trauma, and discover inner strength.
The stress of being a woman in today’s society is significantly overlooked. We’re expected to excel in school, have full-time careers, raise a family, keep the house clean and the pantry stocked, make homecooked meals, keep up with society’s ever-changing standard of “beauty,” exercise and eat healthy, maintain a close group of friends, and have strong relationships with our partners. We do all this while battling intrusive thoughts of perfectionism, low-self worth, poor body image, and never-ending guilt. Even when we feel like we’re drowning and there’s nothing left of us to give, we continue to put other's first.

A space to honor the raw emotional suckage of trauma and to empower you to ditch anxiety and find your voice.
Anxiety is a b!tch - the heart racing, chest tightening, skin crawling, keeps you up all night kind. If you grew up in an emotionally or physically unsafe environment, been in inconsistent and unstable relationships, and live on edge with the fear of never reaching enoughness, then you get it. You find yourself being on guard, overachieving, people pleasing, and quieting your voice as a means to survive with the least amount of damage. You minimize your experiences and often say “I’m fine” when really you are living in your own personal hell and trauma is the prison keeper.

I frequently work with clients who have experienced traumatic events, grief and loss, have experienced a major life transition, and those who experience anxiety disorders.
Have you found yourself repeating old narratives and patterns keeping you stuck? Do you have a hard time connecting to your full self ? I work with people who have become disconnected from parts of themself leading to dissatisfaction in their life. This may show up as anxiety, insomnia, or trauma responses. I support people in recognizing, listening, and attending to all parts of themselves which will lead to healing and growth. By tuning into ourselves we begin to shift the narratives and connect to the person we want to be.

Previously I worked as a chemical engineer, but I wasn’t satisfied. I couldn’t see the direct impact of my work and I craved the intimacy of working directly with people. So, I became a therapist. I enjoy helping those with trauma, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. I have training in EMDR and brainspotting. The impact and power these techniques have in helping a person to heal disturbing memories and experiences fascinates me. I use a client-centered approach, following your lead on goals and what you’d like to explore. I believe in a human’s innate potential to heal.

Over a decade of experience has shown me suffering has its roots in disconnection from self, others, and/or the natural world; often caused by trauma. This disconnection can show up as: difficulty knowing what you want; inability to name and express feelings; relationship discord with partners, friends, or coworkers; feeling lost and uninspired; lack of creativity and flexibility; existential crises; depression; or anxiety. By reconnecting and becoming more embodied, you will find more depth in your relationships, clarity in your thinking, and more skills and confidence to manage the inevitable struggles of life.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
