My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, couples counseling, relationship concerns, and other life experiences.
Everyone needs a safe place to vent, a place where you can unpack the thoughts inside of your mind without judgement or criticism. Stress can become overwhelming, often times it can become paralyzing. Life stressors can cause illness, anxiety, depression and despair. When this occurs, it can be difficult to know where to find help and continue moving forward on your journey. It is often easier to ignore your own needs and focus on others' needs instead.

Hi, I’m Serena! I specialize in supporting teens & adults who are looking to challenge anxious/racing thoughts, work through difficult relationship dynamics, cope with body image or eating concerns, and process life transitions in order to stay connected to the present moment, identify their values, and live into their authentic sense of self. Using a variety of techniques borrowed from DBT, mindfulness-based CBT, and compassion-focused therapy, I am passionate about leading individuals on a journey of deep self-exploration, helping them uncover their true values and potential for growth.

Is your relationship leaving you feeling defeated and broken? Interpersonal connections can benefit us in so many ways, but sometimes relationships can cause you to lose the once healthy image you had of yourself. This inner turmoil may leave you feeling depressed, anxious, or constantly questioning yourself. If it feels impossible for you to appreciate, recognize, and acknowledge your unique strengths and perspectives, you are not alone. Self-care is not considered a privilege, but it is a right. Sometimes we need a reminder that it is okay to ask for help and we are not supposed to have all of the answers.

For both you and your partner, we start with your parents' relationship.
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness! We all want this. We all deserve this. Especially in our romantic relationships. So why do things go wrong? Lack of communication. The good news is, loving communication is a skill that can be learned. Even after years of feeling stuck. When couples learn to talk about issues in a loving way, their whole relationship improves. (Yes, even in the bedroom!) Here's what we'll cover in counseling: • How to bring up a problem that’s bothering you. • How to listen with an open heart. • How to make sure your partner feels heard. • How to come together to create solutions.

I am an art therapist and licensed professional counselor who invites clients on a journey of self-exploration through artmaking and talk therapy. I am passionate about building self-concept, strengths, and coping skills in a safe, comfortable space where clients can feel creative and expressive. In art therapy, I value process over product, you may hear me say “trust the process”! Which means you don’t need to be an artist or “good” at art to participate, but rather explore yourself through art to uncover unconscious thought, create meaning and purpose, engage in conversations of process, strengths, and resilience.

I offer trauma-informed, psychodynamic psychotherapy. As a Psychoanalyst with decades of clinical experience and personal spiritual practice, I can deeply empathize and lift to awareness the wounds that shaped your inner life and external relationships, creating patterns and suffering that often remain repetitive and destructive. Trained to discern the whispers of the unconscious, I translate current patterns and impasses back to their original trauma and provide a psycho-spiritual process for working through, regardless of your Higher Power. This concise and serious work helps integrate the whole person – mind, body and spirit.

My approach in therapy is to be honest and direct with the people I work with, but in a way that is combined with compassion and understanding. I am often told by my clients that they feel they are truly listened to and not judged. I have success in working with people who want to alleviate stress, decrease depression and anxiety, identify and work through negative patterns and create more joy and passion in their lives.

I find great fulfillment in collaborating with clients who are poised for transformative change. Whether seeking a shift in perspective, valuable coping strategies, or a comprehensive life overhaul, I am deeply committed to exploring diverse pathways toward achieving these objectives. Therapy does not need to be perceived as an intimidating endeavor; rather, it can offer profound opportunities for exploration, illumination, and healing, aspects of which I am dedicated to facilitating for my clients.

I also have experience working with children and adults who present a variety of behavioral and mental health challenges. Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
