I see psychotherapy as a journey in which two individuals, therapist and patient, co-create the story of the patient's life. In doing so, together they connect disconnected parts of the self, acknowledge and resolve internal conflicts, work through old losses, and discover new options for leading a more purposeful and meaningful life. For parents, I provide consultation and parenting support when children are struggling. I also provide psychoanalytic clinical supervision focusing on helping clinicians deepen and strengthen the therapeutic relationship with their clients with the aim of reaching more meaningful growth and change.
Using a flexible approach to psychotherapy, I focus on the issues and needs that an individual brings into treatment. In a supportive atmosphere, I help adults, adolescents, and couples explore their inner lives to deepen understanding of their emotional worlds, strengthen relationships, and find fulfillment in work.
A DSW from Rutgers, a Board Certified Psychoanalyst, and a certified supervisor, I am on the faculty at two NJ Institutes. I have published on the relationship between play and identity, female development, mother/daughter relationships, and transgender adolescents. I have presented at conferences here and abroad. I am licensed in NJ, NY, PA, VA, VT & WI.
