” My approach is rooted in the depth psychology tradition but informed by somatic (body based) and neurobiological modalities.
I offer psychotherapy to people who feel drawn to explore and expand their self awareness and transform emotional confusion and suffering. I believe that it’s in relationship with others where we are harmed and it’s also in relationship with others where we can heal. The therapy relationship facilitates a healing conversation because it is a place of safety where you can begin to expand your ability to communicate, develop your capacity for self compassion, deepen your emotional understanding, and increase your self confidence.

My orientation is somatic psychotherapy, depth psychology, attachment focused mindfulness based therapy and EMDR.
I specialize in facilitating the transformation of acute, complex and developmental trauma through honing and honoring intuition and connection with body, mind and spirit. The way back from emotional overwhelm occurs through reconnecting to our vital self, community and awakening or deepening our connection with the more than human world. Together we will work to identify the root causes of negative behaviors and beliefs, while learning to regulate the nervous system and rewire the brain for maximum vitality and coherence.

I then utilize EMDR and somatic techniques to help heal past traumas and assist with long-term mental, emotional, and physical relief.
Do you feel like past experiences continue to impact your daily life (ie. relationships with others, relationship with yourself, etc.)? Would you like to feel more at peace with your past and grounded in the present? Our past experiences form the foundations for the ways in which we think, feel, move, relate, cope, and operate throughout our lives. Talk/skills-based therapies are helpful in building awareness and stabilization, and body-oriented approaches are useful in processing past traumas because these are often stored physically in our bodies.

My training in somatic therapy offers an opportunity to explore how we can move through old stuck energy so we can better access our authenticity, our self acceptance, our pleasure, and help us to get more of what we want out of life.
Our emotions are a biochemical reality in our bodies; we deserve to have a safe space to discover what they are telling us and how to fully express them. Oftentimes, our feelings today are based on belief systems we created in childhood to keep us safe from painful experiences. The way we made sense of our world when we were young influence and shape the quality of our relationships, how we feel about ourselves, and how we fit into the world as adults today. Sometimes this can be limiting. This whole process occurs in our body - our emotions and old belief systems that we may be unaware of ultimately guide our choices and behavior.

I use a blend of somatic-based approaches to therapy as well as traditional approaches.
Hi, my name is Alagna (pronounced Ah-lah-nya), I work with individuals, adolescents, couples, and families interested in finding meaningful support as they navigate personal and relational challenges. I take a deeply systemic approach to therapy, considering you as an individual and conceptualizing the influence of familial and social systems in your life. I view healing as a holistic journey encompassing awareness, reflection, and embodiment. I take special pride in working with folks who have experienced complex family trauma, or sexual trauma, or feel a sense of existential meaninglessness in their life.

I believe talk therapy can get us far, but somatic work can get us further- allowing us to reclaim our body’s inherent resiliency and ability to regulate. Maybe you have done a lot of beautiful self-work but are ready for deeper nervous system regulation. You might feel ready to move beyond recovery and into more ease and joy. You may have a part that feels stuck, but an even bigger one that wants to heal. Perhaps you're ready for deeper spiritual and identity work. I work best with people who are ready to get out of their head and into the body.

I implement cognitive behavioral therapy, specializing in utilizing somatic methods to treat patients who suffer from listlessness, general dissatisfaction, and bad habits.
My ideal client is a high functioning adult who is not necessarily diagnosed with anything, but senses that something is just not right with them, and they don't know how to start. They are somebody who has achieved a lot in life, perhaps professionally, and for some reason they are just not as happy as they used to be, or no longer as interested in what used to be interesting. They are open-minded to try out new methods to help jump-start them back into high gear again. They are motivated, want to change, believe they can change, and are open to doing homework, reading literature and are interested in solving problems together.

I use yoga, cognitive approaches, creative expression, somatic techniques, & mindfulness to support healing & growth.
Trauma & abuse can cause us to feel isolated, out-of-control, and lost in our own lives. The resultant suffering & mental illnesses significantly disrupt our relationships, life satisfaction, and sense of self. These painful experiences can cause a disconnect between the four aspects of our being – mind, body, emotion, and spirit. Therapy offers a space in which you can understand this disconnection, re-story your experience, reintegrate these parts of yourself, and heal. In our work together, we will honor your experiences and help you find what you need to live a more authentic, empowered, and enriching life.

Based on a foundation of trust, our work together will go beyond talk therapy to include mindfulness skills and somatic inquiry.
My practice is currently full. I help adults increase a sense of stability and resource in times of shift and change. I offer a safe place for you to bring your experience of anxiety, depression, anger, or your struggles with recovery. I work from the perspective that in order to connect with inherent strength and resilience, you don't have to edit or bypass what you're feeling. It's not one or the other. In addition to my work with individuals, I help couples who are struggling find new ways to connect and live with greater ease and joy.

I would love to help you create more flexibility and creativity in your relationships to self and others. We'll do this through mindfulness, somatic attention, and moment-to-moment curiosity. I listen to the stories you tell and how you tell them. Attention to posture and sensation helps us see body narratives, and observation of speech patterns and words provides clues about mental and emotional themes. Eventually new stories and possibilities appear as we interrupt worn out messages and invite new meanings. You will learn emotion regulation, self-advocacy, boundary-setting, and increased creative resilience.

I bring a collaborative spirit to our work together, emphasizing mindful presence, somatic awareness, existential inquiry, nature, and strength-based processes.
I offer a welcoming space to explore how disorienting transitions, loss, intense challenges and illnesses can hold within them the possibility for profound personal transformation, renewed vitality, and deeper connections. It was my own journey with chronic illness that began in my twenties that evolved into a calling to support others in their healing. Since 2008, I have worked as a licensed naturopathic physician, health coach, author, educator, and now mental health counselor. My personal and professional experiences have engendered an embodied compassion and humility for the ways in which life can bring us to our knees.

I specialize in EMDR and Somatic Experiencing.
I’m so glad you are here. Do you feel overwhelmed, confused, stuck, anxious, or dissociated? Find yourself shutting people out and pushing them away, or say yes for fear of being alone? Sometimes it’s just easier to do things ourselves, to hold it all. We often spend so much time protecting ourselves from pain that we feel like we are not really living. Humans are hardwired to focus on the negative aspects of life for survival; even when there is some good, we push the positive away or have a hard time accepting it.
