When the fullness of ourselves and our histories are held with care without pathologizing or othering, we can tap into all the possibilities of the people we want to become and the communities we want to build. We can always surprise ourselves in the ways we can grow and I hope to support you in being curious about what this can look like for you. Whether you are trying to figure out your support needs (and how to get them met!); wanting to define your values (and how to live by them!); or wondering what’s next in your life after feeling stuck— I want to help.

Let’s face it: it’s hard to be a human in these times! Creating a brave and supportive space where you can explore your authentic self and access your own inherent wisdom is at the heart of my practice. As a queer & nonbinary therapist, I’m particularly passionate about fostering healing within LGBTQ+, non-monogamous, and kink communities, because I know how important it is to work with someone who understands and affirms your identities and lifestyle. Whatever challenges you are facing, together we can learn how to hold space for it all: the trauma, joy, pain, beauty, grief, strength, uncertainty, and everything in between.

Sometimes in life we find ourselves dealing with issues we never imagined would happen. We struggle in relationships or we struggle at work. Sometimes we don't know why we're feeling the way we are- and that's ok too. Throughout life we face a variety of struggles psychotherapy helps you know you're not alone. My goal is to help you find hope, your direction to authenticity and healing beyond the struggles you're holding.

I've worked extensively with trauma survivors to help them find healing from their past, and to begin creating a life worth living for themselves in the present. I became a therapist because I wanted to work with clients who had experienced trauma, and while I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients, I have worked successfully with clients from numerous backgrounds.

The wise Jedi master Yoda once said; “Pass on what you have learned. Strength. Mastery. But also weakness, folly, failure also. Yes, failure most of all. The greatest teacher, failure is". We often seek out therapy because something within our soul yearns for change. Multiple parts within us, all with their own voice, habits, and desires, vie to be heard. Some parts may believe failure is something that makes us lesser. American culture steeps us in the idea that shame is a good motivator for change, but it only creates more pain. By exploring our shame, our failures, our pains, and what we deeply yearn for, we can grow.

I believe therapy is most effective when clinicians welcome the expertise clients have about their own lives. Treatment is collaborative! My hope is to take the relationship we build and extend it to the rest of your life outside of the therapy room. I approach therapy with the assumption that clients aren’t trying to make their lives harder, but often that our attempts to manage distress may increase suffering. Through our work together, we will focus on identifying strengths and values that are guiding behavior, and then challenging and changing the unhelpful aspects and thought patterns that make reaching your goals difficult.

In times that can seem harsh and unfair, it can be hard to find a way forward. I believe that our problems are not “all in your head.” There are real reasons we feel the way we feel, and they deserve to be heard and honored. Systemic oppression, world events, and childhood experiences have a real effect on us. If the world has ever told you who you are is “not okay”, it may feel dangerous just to exist in certain spaces, let alone to act on your feelings and desires. I hope our work will help you better understand how to unite your Self, your values, and your circumstances to build the life you want to live.

I primarily work with LGBTQIA+ and Neurodivergent people seeking assistance with healing from trauma. I believe you are the person in charge of your treatment and my role is to aid in providing space for you to share and explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Therapy needs to be a brave space as you are sharing yourself with another individual, as you may feel vulnerable, scared, or hesitant. If you are struggling to find your voice and advocate for yourself or feel disconnected from your body perhaps we can work together to create space and reconnect.

It's time to set aside time for ourselves and explore the values that make us human: compassion, community, and curiosity. We're more than just our jobs; whether we work 9-5 five days a week, oversee long tireless nights, or run our own business, it can be hard to see the bigger picture.

I work with adults and teens who are struggling with life challenges including anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, and existential concerns. I am also comfortable working with spiritual concerns and experiences, and eco-grief and eco-anxiety. I view therapy as a voluntary engagement with a process of discovery and transformation. I seek to foster your natural curiosity about yourself and your life, and help you connect to the parts of yourself that have grown distant. Everyone's process is different, and I view my expertise as a supplement to your natural capacity for self-healing and growth.

Sometimes, we have a problem that needs an outside perspective that allows ourselves to resolve it and move forward. Sometimes, we just need confirmation that what we are thinking is real and justified. Whether it is anxiety, depression, relationship issues, suicidality, or changes in life you are dealing with (like empty nesting, retirement, moving from home, elderly care) are all things we need help to transition into. I can help you navigate them collaboratively, and with your narrative in place.
