I work primarily with adults and older teens struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, trauma, life transitions, and just trying to understand and make sense of their lives. I have experience working in eating disorder treatment as well as college counseling. While I am guided by a variety of approaches, including psychodynamic, attachment, existential, and mindfulness theories, the heart of my work is the attitude that healing comes through connection and that we move through difficult times by learning to continually open up to experience.
Therapy is an intensely personal journey and the therapeutic process can be challenging, enriching, and life-affirming. It also requires a lot of patience and courage. My approach is depth-oriented as well as experiential and I work from the principle that being known is what helps us know ourselves, and knowing ourselves is our first step towards healing.
Our therapeutic relationship is where this all starts. I am passionate about this work and am guided by the belief that we all have a natural capacity to create new ways of navigating life and being in the world even when things are challenging.
