In therapy, we build on strengths and capabilities you already have, using different therapeutic techniques appropriate for your unique situation. With couples and families, we build communication skills, and intentionally grow deeper connections, and stronger relationships. Humor, and playful interaction is encouraged. For couples, I have special training in communication, and sex therapy.

Sunrise Wellness and Counseling came about from my experience of healing trauma through therapy and yoga. The mind-body connection is powerful in healing trauma and improving mental and emotional health. When going through my darkest nights, I always told myself that the sun would rise and the night wouldn't last forever. Eventually, the sun did rise again through hard work, forgiveness, self-compassion, and support. I hope to walk with you through the darkness until the sun rises for you.

I focus on creating a warm environment for my client to feel safe and able to process whatever their wanting to work on. There is no pressure to focus on one topic, as life has it's ups and downs. The treatment plan is created by my client and myself, in order to ensure the focus is on what my client would like to work on .

I am a trauma-focused, strength-based perspective therapist. I actively work to provide a space that feels safe to share your innermost experiences. How I do that is by providing a space of unconditional positive regard. You can also expect that we will collaborate on goals for therapy - talk about traumatic experiences, and connect with your inner child in addition to your secure sense of self.

I use equine-assisted therapy model Eagala. The client chooses the pace and what to work on. Clients who have experienced trauma, anxieties, and other emotional related problems can find that the horses can relate because they are hyper vigilant and reflect back what they sense. As the counselor I allow for the process to work through at it's own pace and support the strengths of the client as they emerge. I have several locations in Western WA, in order to ease access. At present I have Enumclaw, Maple Valley, Riversdale, South Prairie, Monroe, Auburn, Sedro Wolley, and Olympia. I have a sliding scale not based just on income.
