I believe we are made to be in relationship with others and when there are difficulties, we suffer.
"I'm tired. Tired of living in a relationship that is a lot of work with little reward. I've read books and gone to seminars but nothing changes. I don't want to be miserable, walking on eggshells to avoid fighting. I feel so alone and want the person I once was madly in love with to pay attention to me and look at me with love and admiration. Everywhere I turn there are demands and I just want peace. I can't see past the issues- and sometimes I don't even know what the "issue" is except we are both unhappy."

I would like for you to feel like our therapeutic relationship is a good “fit,” so that you can be open and feel safe to explore and face challenging feelings and experiences.
I am currently accepting new clients. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with many years of experience treating a wide range of presenting concerns within adults, families, and couples. Some of these presenting concerns include depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, relationship dilemmas, challenges with life transitions, identity development and exploration, and working through past traumas. My areas of specialty include eating disorders and couples work. I see therapy as a collaborative process. Together we will identify and establish your goals for treatment, and work to bring you to where you feel more positively.

Many also hold identifies with marginalized groups as LGBTQ+ or BIPOC folx. At times, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, grief and loss, and many other circumstances can easily make one feel overwhelmed and, perhaps, in need of a mental health tune-up.
I have current availability for new clients after school and during the day. I offer FREE consults that can be scheduled on my website. I am a Christian therapist who delights in helping my clients discover muscles they didn't realize they had. I help my clients find clarity and hope so they can live life more fully. Using a person-centered, strength-based and compassionate approach, I help my clients identify the root cause of their struggles and teach them new and more helpful coping techniques. My clients routinely report improved mood, better emotion regulation, and deeper connections with their spouses, families and friends.

I specialize in couples, children, teens and individuals. I believe that everyone can reach an optimum state of health, counseling helps individuals and families reach healthy functioning in their relationships with others. I employ an integrative approach with a strong reliance on cognitive-behavioral aspects, emotion focused therapy, solution focused therapy, as well as some Jungian methods, such as sand tray therapy, and child centered play therapy. Sand Tray Therapy is a form of expressive therapy. This non-verbal method of therapy is often used with children, but can be applied to adults, teens, couples, families as well.

My approach is holistic in nature, applying mind, body and spirit. For over nine years, I have worked with adults in a variety of settings. I have had the privilege of coming alongside individuals who are going through intense and often life-changing situations. All of these relationships are personal to me and through these experiences I have come to learn the devastating effects painful life events has on lives. I know therapy can feel scary and vulnerable. Just the thought of it can feel overwhelming and exhausting. And yes, it can even feel risky. It takes courage to confront fears and ask for help.

When one door closes but another door isn't yet open, it can get lonely out in that hallway. Maybe a loved one has died, or you've received a diagnosis or you just moved to a new area...Is what you're feeling grief, trauma or culture shock? Or all of the above? How do you find courage, support and strength when you're in this in-between territory? It helps to have someone who's been there listen as you sort it out. Someone who gives you space to discern what you need. Someone who understands your language and can help you recognize and explore new possibilities. Someone who helps you discover who you are now, and who you can become

I provide a map for personal growth for men. On the journey you will uncover your deepest thoughts, wishes, fears, and conflicts. You will hold your history and personal identity up to the light, turning them slowly, pondering, and when you’re able, you may choose to release them, making way for a stronger interior scaffolding. You will become healthier, balanced, and psychologically strong. I work on the premise that men of this century want to be their own healers. Our work is to gather the resources needed for psychological well-being, developing the skill and power to rise to maturity and fulfillment.

You may feel alone and isolated, or experience the common core belief many of us carry of feeling "not good enough" in the many roles you take on in your daily life. Do you feel as though you are missing out on your life because of the symptoms you are experiencing? You don't have to navigate this time in your life on your own. Beginning therapy is a courageous step in searching for a better balance in life and a greater belief in yourself and I would love to be by your side on this journey.

Sharing our inner experiences with someone can often feel frightening, which is exactly why I place such an importance on connection and acceptance in the therapeutic process. I aim to create a safe environment that will invite my clients to delve deeper into their personal narrative, as I truly believe we are not built to process emotions alone. As humans, we all have a propensity to grow and become our true selves, unfortunately we aren’t always gifted with the circumstances to allow it. I am passionate about creating a space for not only self-discovery and self acceptance, but to allow clients to feel seen, heard, and valued.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
