I have many tools available including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Expressive Arts, Attachment-based and others.
Worn out from hiding how you really feel, feeling misunderstood, or constantly putting others' needs before your own? Perhaps you’re battling an inner conflict, unsure of who you are or what you stand for. These struggles have roots, and together we can uncover them, helping you break free from pain. I specialize in helping you understand how past trauma has shaped your self-perception and impacted your relationships. Together, we can transform old coping mechanisms into new ways of living, filled with connection, love, and joy.

My approach is strongly influenced by the science of interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory, Existential-Humanistic philosophy, and the models of Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Health At Every Size (HAES), and Somatic Therapy.
Now accepting new video therapy clients! I enjoy working with clients on a variety of issues including grief and loss, chronic illness and disability, trauma processing, life transitions, body image, family of origin concerns and generalized anxiety. I place great importance on providing a non-judgmental and safe space where clients can feel seen, cared for, respected, and encouraged to grow in their self-discovery and self-acceptance. My style is warm, compassionate, embodied, and collaborative. I am a graduate student counselor who is passionate about body liberation, anti-racism, and LGBTQIA affirming care.

In my practice I treat adults with PTSD, personality disorders, survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, religious trauma, people with suicidal thoughts or self harm, depression, grief, loss, and many other issues. I also see clients diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I work with folks on issues regarding family life: parenting and other relationships. In your therapy, I will work carefully to provide a calm, warm, safe space in which to explore your unique self, and what happiness, satisfaction, and fulfillment look like for you. As therapy progresses, we will talk about everything that is important to you.

I am accepting new patients, adults and teenagers, for online Telehealth Therapy. In my practice I believe each patient is unique, and I tailor my therapy sessions to meet the needs of each individual. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Acceptance and Commitment therapy during each session and weave in other techniques and theories such as Internal Family Systems, and more as needed.

I use Internal Family Systems( IFS) that helps us identify and befriend the internal 'voices' or parts of us that may have their own motivations.
Life is stressful; especially as a teen or young adult! So many life changes, school pressure is hard, and relationships with friends and parents can feel overwhelming. As a queer, neurodivergent therapist, I have the lived experience and know how hard it can be to constantly worry, feel shame about making small mistakes like forgetting important dates, and wonder if you are 'enough'. Luckily, I have designed my practice to help those with ADHD/ASD, Anxiety, and those in the LGBTQIA+ community overcome life's challenges. I would love to talk with you more about what YOU need! Reach out today!

I am a Level 2 trained IFS therapist.
Everything feels hard right now doesn't it? Realizing that things are not fine and you are not ok. Maybe even coming to the hard conclusion that some of the things that you have experienced are impacting you in ways that you know are not healthy or helpful. You are realizing that you need to know why you are the way you are and do the things you do. You want to be better, but don't know how. Let's slow down, remember to breathe and take it one step at a time. It is normal to feel alone, but I will work with you as we find your path back to health and hope.

Trauma and attachment focused, Internal Family Systems and EMDR trained.
While teenagers and young adults are not the ideal client for some, I like to think I'm a bit different. I really enjoy working with teens, young adults, and young people in general- especially those with attachment and trauma issues. Additionally, working with the families of those teens is one of the quickest routes to healing, and I feel that you can't help the teen without also helping the family. I do this through trauma informed therapies such as, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Motivational Interviewing.

I am trained in EMDR, clinical hypnosis, internal family systems, and sensorimotor psychotherapies.
I have over thirty years of clinical experience helping clients find lasting change in their lives. My clinical focus is treating depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have specialized training in treating complex trauma including dissociative disorders. When working with trauma, the healing process can often be frightening and painful to address. Talk alone is not enough and can be retraumatizing in some cases. I use EMDR. My goal is to provide a professional, yet personal atmosphere where you can experience comfort and safety in exploring what is troubling you and find effective tools and skills that you can use in your life.

Confusing therapist talk ahead: I have a training/utilize EMDR (fancy trauma therapy that works really well), EFT/Gottman (couples therapy approach that also is really effective for communication), IFS (I like talking about your inner child and how your feelings are serving you to help you manage them), sex therapy for anxiety/trauma (good sex is important).
Finding a therapist can feel a lot like swiping through dating apps trying to find the right fit. You want to work with someone who gets you and is thoughtful and easy to talk to. That's how I work. I work with individuals and couples in a warm, attachment based approach. I'm here to help you heal old patterns, vent, or whatever you need. We can figure out the traps you fall into, cry, and laugh for 50 minutes. I'm not here to judge you or tell you how to live your life, just to support you in living authentically.

My practice incorporates mindfulness, EMDR, DBT, IFS, poly-vagal theory and many other practices alongside a spirit of collaboration, grace and compassion.
Our existence in this world comes with hopes, aspirations and dreams. It also comes with disappointments, challenges and hardships which can overshadow our light and purpose. These obstacles on our path to our most authentic self may have been passed down to us from our family or an injustice burdened onto us as along the way. Somewhere, amongst all of these parts of ourselves, there is hope and a belief that we can be at peace with our past and artfully manage our present so that we can fully embrace the future we deserve.

I use approaches from family systems, attachment, and mindfulness among others.
In a world that is habitually fast-paced and anonymous, it is easy to lose connection with ourselves and each other. Are you feeling disconnected or stuck? Like the parts of your life are out of sync? Having difficulties in relationships? Typically, I work with people experiencing disconnection and "stuck" feelings which often show up during times of transition and change within the context of significant relationships including parents, partners, children and friends. I also work with people around the stuck places connected to various trauma experiences.

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
