I work with people who are navigating very big losses or change. I have a lot of experience supporting people with cancer or other serious illness. I also support caregivers or medical providers. For many of us, navigating personal challenges now, in the context of global, national, and environmental traumas have dialed up our stress and we notice that we’re more distracted; shut down; irritable; overwhelmed; sad, or hopeless. I want to recognize the effort you’re making by reaching out for support in the midst of everything you’re going through.

Something happens...or someone says something...and before you know it you're reacting. And it's big. In the heat of the moment, you're sure you are right - and maybe you really are-but it pushes others away. They tell you things like "you're making a big deal out of nothing" or "just chill". And that just makes things worse. Later, when the moment has passed, you can have regrets...or even shame. And then the self-hatred sets in. You've got to change. You've probably done therapy before, and it just didn't help.

I view therapy as an opportunity to recognize the strengths of each person, the uniqueness of each story, and to find ways to use those strengths to create change and growth. I enjoy having the chance to walk alongside people through all types of challenges and triumphs as a willing listener who can provide empathy, a non-judgmental view on current and past experiences, and support to work towards meeting goals.

Feeling as if you have to appear to have everything together, while internally you are struggling and overwhelmed? Maybe you have been avoiding pain or hurt from your childhood or past relationships but you know it is taking a toll on you. You might not even remember a time when things didn't feel so overwhelming. A few things are for sure: you are ready for some relief. You are ready to feel heard and seen. And you long to slow down. Clients come to me looking for a safe space to work thru anxiety, heal past wounds, build tolerance for challenging emotions, and develop self-worth.

Practice on hold until November. We all have our own unique life story that impacts how we see the world, others, and most importantly, how we see ourselves. Sometimes our narrative includes plot twists, and we find ourselves in need of support, so we can heal and end some chapters and begin writing new ones. Trusting me with your life chapters takes courage and vulnerability, and I take that seriously. My hope is that I can partner with each client as they embrace their identity as the hero in their own story and support them as they explore, heal, learn, and write the narrative they desire.
