I am a LICSW with a focus on psychotherapy with adults, children and families. I have been a practitioner for 48 years, in private practice for 12 1/2 years and had been a psychotherapist for 26 years in the Behavioral Health Department at Group Health. While there, in addition to a general caseload that included Medicare patients, I ran a Children's Therapy Group, served on a county-wide child abuse oversight committee, co-chaired an inter-disciplinary case consultation team, and managed an intern program.

Offering Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) to treat PTSD in Seattle and Bellevue, Washington. SGB is successful in approximately 85% of patients who see an almost immediate 50% reduction in PTSD symptoms on average (mean reduction in the PCL-5 (PTSD) score of 30 points). The stellate ganglion is a control center for the sympathetic nervous system and a conduit for PTSD triggers. SGB is a low risk injection which stops the sympathetic nervous system overdrive in PTSD patients, so triggers can be reduced or even eliminated. Patients are then better able to engage in the psychological work related to trauma events and PTSD.

Life is hard; no one said it would be easy. Nothing that has value comes easily. It seems the things that can bring us lasting joy are the things we have to work to achieve. We are all unique in history. Where we come from, which family, which culture, impacted who we are and who we will or have become. Yet, all of us are the same in that we need human interaction. We come into this world seeking others, touch, interaction. We are neither meant to be or have to be completely alone. *(I am an approved WA State Supervisor and am currently taking on LMHCA supervisees).

Everyone faces unique challenges shaped by their history, identities, and the systems around them—social, political, and familial. Tragedy and trauma are part of the human experience. Often, strong emotions like anger, depression, or anxiety drive us to seek help. By exploring these feelings, we may uncover recurring patterns in how we relate to ourselves and others that cause suffering and keep us stuck. Psychotherapy can help identify and address these patterns, offering a path to growth and healing. Just as adversity is part of being human, so is the potential for recovery and change.

I'm very experienced working with minority communities including working with women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ clients. Minority groups and couples, particularly those at the intersections of gender, race, and sexual orientation, who are often underrepresented in fields of work such as business, tech, and entrepreneurship. I believe therapy should be a safe and non-judgmental space that empowers individuals to be able to push their own limits and views of themselves, in all aspects of their personal and professional lives. Being able to embrace, love, and be proud of oneself, is one of the strongest things a person can learn to do.
