My work for the past eight years has been focused on general practice with a specialty in addiction and co-dependency all within a relaxed and respectful environment. I work with individuals and couples to promote hope, health, and wellness by creating a safe space conducive to facilitating change, reflection, and interpersonal growth. Parents of children with special needs and learning differences need support, advocacy, and connection. While single parents face overwhelming challenges alone, relationships also suffer as the family is impacted financially, emotionally, and socially, and the roles of husband and wife change. Family life can be overcome by the needs of the child; care for parents is critical as the needs of the child change and stages of development impact parental roles, quality of life, and family dynamics. Identifying and addressing concerns and problem areas early on increases the likelihood that they will be managed successfully.

I have over 20 years of experience working as a mental health counselor in the State of Washington. My areas of expertise include individual, couple, and family therapy. My specialties are PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance abuse. Also, I have been facilitating different groups for 20 years and a DBT group for 9 years. All of the clients who have committed themself to this DBT class have learned some specific DBT skills that they can apply in their daily lives when they feel depressed or anxious.

LAUNCHING's mission is to assist young people transtion to successful adult independence. Our participants are "stuck", a.k.a. "failing to launch. They may not be in school, not have a job, be socially isolated, and almost always living with their parents, who are usually exhausted, overwhelmed and hopeless, and, therefore, also "stuck". Their specific issues may be ADHD/ADD, social and other anxiety, depression, high funtioning autism, gaming addiction, a significant physical illness, or any one of a myriad of other problems. They often do not know what they want, or if they do, don't know how to achieve their goals.
