I began my career in 1979 with a spiritual gift for serving others. Obtaining an MSW in 2007, my graduate internship launched a church-based ministry offering Christian counseling. Currently a LICSW I use evidence/research-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused and narrative therapy to strengthen client and family systems. I have proven competent in my clinical practice and am ready to assist clients in realizing their resilience in moving forward towards a positive future.

My name is Samantha Lynes and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon State. My years of experience in the mental health field is over 9 years. I provide evidence-based best practices and therapies to tailor treatment to meet the specific needs of each unique client in a safe and non-judgmental manner.

I view each individual's problems in the context of their life and relationships. My approach to therapy is best described as relational, client centered, and outcomes-focused. I provide therapeutic services to individuals, families, and couples whose interests are personal growth and development, relationship enhancement, individual and career transitions. I feel passionate about working with families and helping to foster better communication between couples as well as children and their parents.

My client profile consists of 1/3 children/adolescents, 1/3 trauma focused therapy due to sexual assault and/or sexual addiction impact, and 1/3 females over 40 who would like to explore making changes in life. I enjoy the diversity of my practice as all the above mentioned areas enable me to work with both childhood disorders and relational challenges into adulthood. My focus on sexual addiction/trauma and family of origin issues is to provide supportive and therapeutic space for partners and children/teens who have been impacted by someone who has either a confirmed or suspected sexual addiction.

Helping people learn to manage and cope with emotions like, fear, frustration, sadness and worry is my specialty. Self defeating behavioral patterns that involve anger, phobias, procrastination, or poor impulse control can also be addressed. I am a retired Senior Leader of the US Army. I consider myself an eclectic therapist with a sense of humor and do not believe one size fits all. I draw from various theories and use different therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Family Systems Theories, Solution Focused, Brief Solution Focused as well as Behavior Activation techniques. I use the client center approach and use resources and support systems available for the client. I also assist with providing resources and connecting clients to their community. My specialization is in narcissist abuse education and recovery.

Mark’s first love has always been in practice with family and individual counseling. After managing, he decided to enter into private practice, currently with the Mindful Therapy Group. Mark provides individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy services to people with a variety of mental and emotional difficulties including depression, anxiety, attention deficit, multiple personality, anti-social and other personality issues. Mark has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from different backgrounds, cultures, and unique circumstances.

TMS is now available in a state of the art functional medicine clinic run by Dr. Renee Woods. This FDA approved, non-invasive treamtent is indicated for Major depressive disorder and OCD when medications and psychotherapy have failed. It is available for those who can commute or drive to the clinic 3-5 x a week for 6-8 weeks and have Private Insurance or Medicare.

For 2 decades I have empowered and walked beside many clients as they have overcome difficult and stressful issues in their lives. While I am comfortable working with many mental health issues, I have developed special interest in walking beside woman in their journey with cancer, working with individuals on the gender spectrum, working with adolescents, and walking along side of people who are experiencing grief and depression. I believe that I easily hold out hope for others until they can hope for themselves.
