I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and have worked in the eating disorder treatment world since 2018. Prior to my clinical work, I was engaged in eating disorder education and advocacy, and began my own work on unpacking and exploring weight stigma and anti-fat bias.

I work with children, families, individual adults, and teens, prioritizing connection over compliance. I have experience and special interest in healthcare provider burnout, family and parenting support, depression, anxiety, and neurodivergent affirming care. I believe we all have the capacity for hope and growth and all do well when we can. Family support often focuses on strengthening coping and communication skills, allowing us to work together from a place of safety. work to be culturally and LGBTQ+ affirming, anti-ableist and anti-racist.

Dr. Barta offers evaluation and therapy services for children and adults who are neurodiverse and/or have a trauma history. Her expertise assessing with a neuropsychological lens allows gives a quick "map" to better understand yourself or your child. Her skillsets are perfect for tired parents, parents seeking an initial diagnosis/second opinion, children/adolescents in need of support, or for adults seeking relief or clarity of their own functioning. Her work was acknowledged in 2016 for School Psychologist of the Year.

I am currently accepting new telehealth clients across all of Washington. It can be really difficult here and now to live a life that allows you to thrive. I offer support for people struggling, people who want to feel better, who want to grow. I am a good fit for people who want to shift their relationships with themselves, with loved ones, with standards that don’t fit. I love supporting young adults in their life travel. l am trans and non-binary, and I have a special place in my practice for LGBTQ+ people of all kinds, especially people on the trans and gender diverse spectrum, and people exploring their relationship to gender.
