I offer psychotherapy services rooted in an Integrative framework that draws from relational psychology as well as mindfulness and somatic based approaches.
Even though it may not seem like it, often times our symptoms are messengers from a deep part of our own psyche, sent to inform us that we need to find new ways of relating to ourselves and those around us in order to reach our next level of growth. My philosophy is one of wholeness; our bodies, emotions, thoughts, and background work in unison to inform our present experience. It is my goal to help you find more flexibility within your experience, so that you can move towards the life that you truly want to be living.

When we struggle with depression, anxiety, pain from the past, or traumatic stress, our relationships struggle too. Often the pain experienced in relationships with our loved ones is what drives us to find relief and solutions from the disconnect and disruption we are in the midst of. We don't just want to feel better, we want to be better: Better to ourselves, better to those we love. Engaging in therapy and neurofeedback is about looking for the solutions that will enable us to move beyond the obstacles and into the connections we really desire.

I have experience working with couples, families and individuals of all ages from a variety of cultures/ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, and religious beliefs, as well as LGBTQIA+. My approach is integrated, operating from a systems theory background, with a lens that is relational and informed by awareness of how societal factors impact experience. Working as a certified substance use disorder counselor, I address not only the individual user, but the impact of use on loved ones. I see change happening through shifts from a person seeing themselves as the problem to seeing themselves as a person up against a problem.

My approach is relational and supportive and draws on modern research on the brain, trauma, and attachment.
Sometimes clients who reach out to me are struggling with identifiable issues - depression, anxiety, addictions, stress, grief, life transitions, or illness. Sometimes they're couples grappling with the fallout of infidelity or suffering from a loss of intimacy. And sometimes new clients don't even know what the problem is. They just know something isn't working. I've been practicing for over thirty years, helping individuals and couples gain a deeper understanding of themselves and each other so they can live whole-heartedly and in the present.

I work with individuals, couples, and families to address issues ranging from relational conflict to the broad spectrum of mental health. Through an eclectic approach utilizing cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and family systems-based modalities, I explore current problems within the social, cultural, and environmental context of life experiences and the impact these experiences have on both physical and mental health. I often approach the presenting issue as a symptom and endeavor to assist clients in developing an understanding of the function that problem serves and how to achieve that same function with more desired outcomes.

Her style of therapy is process-oriented and relational.
The journey we are on takes us in all different directions, testing us at every turn. There is help and hope. I have been honored to hear people's stories at various points of their journey; witnessing, observing, supporting, empathizing, listening and reflecting. Through hearing their stories, I have learned how fragile the human condition is, and at the same time, the empowering strengths and resiliency each one intrinsically has in adapting and surviving the difficulties put before them.

Hello and welcome! My work is focused on helping clients strengthen any number of dimensions in their relationships, including emotional connection, safety and intimacy, communication, conflict resolution, self- and other-confidence, trust building and repair from infidelity. I am trained in systems theory, which means I approach therapeutic work through the context of your relational systems, interactions, and feedback loops that create and perpetuate the problems, patterns, and behaviors clients are seeking to resolve. This often translates to facilitating change within the system in contrast to only within the individual.

Couples/Families: Close relationships can be difficult. Top issues that bring couples into counseling include: Money, In-Laws, Parenting, Housework, Sex, and Emotional Intimacy. Relational issues left untreated often cause couples to live in "quiet desperation" or all-out warfare. Couple and familial relationships don't have to be a series of endless arguments or giving up and feeling alone. With awareness, skills, and practice relationships can change for the better. I would be honored to help in this journey so that you and your loved ones can recover the joy, fun, and deep connection that first drew you together.

Are you living the life you desire? Do you want to find more peace, fun, and intimacy in your personal relationships? Anais Nin once said, "There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." This quote underscores my belief that change and growth are available to us all; we simply have to be willing for the process to unfold. You can create the life that you want. I will help you get there.

Relational Therapists
How does relational therapy work?
Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.
Is relational therapy evidence-based?
Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.
How long are people typically in relational therapy?
Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.
Does relational therapy work?
While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
