I have a Master's degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Marriage and Family Therapy, and have been in practice for over 25 years. I am a Washington State designated as a Child Mental Health Specialist and a Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator. Over my years in practice, I have worked with families, couples, adolescents, and individuals. The goal of therapy is to help you understand yourself and others within a relationship. My goal is to help you see your behavior patterns at a processing level, so you may disrupt these patterns for new, healthy behaviors. For example, ending chronic people-pleasing habits.

Marriage and family therapists (MFTs) specialize in understanding and addressing the complex dynamics within relationships and family systems.
The ideal client for a marriage and family therapist is someone who is open to exploring their thoughts, emotions, and relationships in a supportive environment. This individual may be experiencing challenges within their marriage, family dynamics, or personal life, and they seek guidance to foster understanding and growth. This client values the importance of connection and is willing to engage in honest conversations about their experiences. They understand that relationships can be complex and are ready to confront difficult feelings with courage and vulnerability.

I would love to help you find healing & happiness within yourself, in your marriage, or with your family.
Thank you for considering me to be the person who will walk alongside you in your journey toward mental and emotional health. You have found yourself on my page because you need help. Life is not easy, and can be particularly cruel to many. From the moment we begin our lives we start to build a toolbox full of tools to help us cope and move through our experiences and relationships. Sometimes the tools that we have may no longer be serving us and may actually be hurting us. It can be so difficult to see which tools may be keeping us from the life we want without the help of an unbiased and non-judgmental outside perspective.

My faith has been essential to seeing changes in my parenting and marriage.
I have been a therapist for over 12 years and love working with motivated clients! I provide a outside perspective, hope, and teach skills that improve relationships. My approach looks at how the role we played in our childhood, influences our current relationships, especially as a parent or spouse. I enjoy working with married couples who are experiencing conflict, especially while raising their children. I am also a certified perinatal therapist and enjoy supporting women in postpartum. Contact me if you want to live a more attuned and meaningful life and you want to see sustainable changes.

I bring that passion to my work as a marriage and family therapist.
Life can take many a difficult turn. A sudden tragedy, abrupt life change, or physical loss can leave us not knowing how to handle the emotional distress. Sometimes we find ourselves struggling to cope in a relationship that once was beautiful. Young families with developing children can begin experiencing great conflict for no apparent reason. The anxiety and depression we feel because of past neglect, abuse, or trauma can become overwhelming even years after the fact. Some of us feel like we have always been broken. Good news! There is healing. There is hope. There is a brighter tomorrow with a new, joyful outlook on life.

’ll meet you where you are on your journey, offering the support you need to heal your marriage.
Unwanted pornography use, cheating, or infidelity can leave a couple feeling shattered, ashamed, and afraid. You love each other, yet there’s a part of your relationship that brings deep hurt, seeming impossible to overcome. Just when things improve, the pain resurfaces, and despite apologies, the effects linger. The betraying partner feels shame and regret; the hurt partner is caught in a painful cycle of reaching out and pulling back. You’re ready to confront the betrayal, rebuild trust, and create the relationship you’ve always wanted. You’re ready to feel safe and secure again. I want to help you get there.

Anxiety, depression, marital stress, family difficulties, and countless other obstacles can get in your way of flourishing.
Welcome! My name is Conner. I am passionate about stories, life being the greatest of them all. Sometimes along the way you feel stuck, trapped in a world that feels exhausting, confusing, even unbearable. These feelings may be new to you, whereby you find yourself in uncharted territory at a critical moment in time, unsure of what to do. Or perhaps you have found yourself in this position previously, wondering why these feelings keep resurfacing. The best part about this story of life is that what happens next has yet to be written.

As a former professional musician and teacher for 25 years, I have witnessed the increasing stress that people face in our hyper-competitive society. As an immigrant, I have also experienced the adjustment stress of being in a new culture, and being in a biracial marriage, I understand the challenges of bringing 2 cultures together. My aim is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space to explore with clients their challenges in life. The theoretical approaches I use in therapy are Attachment Therapy, Bowen family systems theory, and other client-centered modalities.

Marriage Counseling Therapists

How does marriage counseling work?

Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?

Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?

Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?

Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
