I believe that healing can happen through the process of empathic and supportive counseling. I work with mood issues, personality disorders, grief, substance use and more. I utilize a culturally sensitive and holistic psychodynamic style of therapy. This approach encourages development in all areas of life, and pays special attention to unconscious factors, childhood upbringing, trauma, and cultural identity (race, religion, sexuality, gender, disability, etc). I am currently accepting clients for group therapy, that will combine the sport/art of crew rowing with group talk therapy. This is a powerful way of feeling connection.

I have experience teaching groups in areas such as Self-Esteem, Self-Compassion, Behavioral Activation, Rejection Sensitivity, Death Anxiety, Grief, PTSD & Growth, Moral Injury, Shame Resiliency, Anger, & Self-Defeating Behaviors.
Therapy is hard, not getting therapy is harder. Taking the first step to wellness can be the most difficult and I will gladly help you navigate though life's challenges via TeleMental Health sessions. I became a counselor to help others find hope and their potential in life. I have experience working with civilian/veteran clients who have been diagnosed with a personality disorder, anxiety/panic, depression, PTSD, adjustment disorders, and who have suicidal ideation, attempts, and/or self-harming behaviors. While we diagnose in order to "name it to tame it," I view us all as human beings who need extra help along the path of life.

Now accepting NEW clients! We all experience difficulties in life: breakups, divorce, grief and loss as well as trouble with school or work performance. We believe quality mental health services should be available when inevitable events knock us off course and we can't "fix" it ourselves. Most people try several remedies before therapy, but sometimes extra help is needed. We also recognize that everyone wants privacy, ranging from children to lawyers to other medical professionals. We were founded with you in mind. Your privacy is important to us, and shouldn't be a barrier to quality care.

For therapy to be effective, it needs to be real, honest, compassionate, and focused on the client's goals. That is what you will find with me. Over the years, I have found a common thread among my clients: they long to feel safe, loved, and accepted by those around them. When those feelings are not met, life can seem overwhelming and depressing. Finding connections, learning skills, overcoming traumas, dealing with grief, helping your marriage thrive -- these can be great stepping stones in living life to the fullest. Together, we can find ways to achieve this goal.

Navigating these trying times of trauma and loss revealed to me that I have a gift for listening to people and assisting them in processing their experiences.
Across the prairies of our country when a storm is approaching cattle can be seen running away, which only elongates their discomfort. Buffalo on the other hand, can be seen turning and charging into the storm. As a result they reduce their duration of suffering and make it to clear skies sooner. My goal is to connect with individuals and couples who are navigating the storms of life and help them become the best versions of themselves. I utilize a warm and casual style that facilitates an environment of trust and support, allowing clients space to build effective skills and develop resiliency for the inevitable storms ahead.
