Whatever the present condition of our life, we have had an intrinsic role in creating it, whether we see it or not. The good news is that once we have enough awareness to take ownership, we can consciously create what is next. Our greatest ally is self awareness and clarity. My role as a therapist is to help you identify and resolve your obstacles (internal and external) and to help you clarify your life purpose and direction. In an empathic relationship that stresses authenticity, our processes will lead to in depth exploration and releasing.

I work with a wide range of clients, many of whom share similar challenges—work and organizational stress, health concerns, grief and loss; or are experiencing other difficulties, such as PTSD and other traumas (including compassion fatigue), depression, or anxiety. My approach is person-centered, focusing on you, the client, and the moment-to-moment engagement, discovering insights together. I can help you discover insights into barriers, and the constructive solutions to overcoming those barriers. Each person has the right to live a life free of negative thoughts and experiences—a life of healthy well-being.

Emotional pain distorts our view of the world. The longer our pain lasts, the more unhappy we become. Unlike a well meaning friend or relative, a therapist can consider your concerns from a fresh, objective, perspective. But a therapist will not solve your problems for you; he will guide you by listening, questioning and observing—- so that you can find your own answers when extreme unhappiness, overwhelming anxiety or fear, feelings of inadequacy and low self esteem, sexual problems, and traumatic events interfere with your life or relationships with others.

I am an WA and ID licensed therapist and here to help. Often, because of trauma and stress, we might consciously or unconsciously disown parts of ourselves. We might grow to view certain coping skills or patterns as “bad” when ultimately, they most likely served an important purpose in our lives. I aim to help my clients explore themselves, part by part, with gentle curiosity. Through using a variety of experiential approaches, we will work together to heal these pieces, allowing us to become more integrated, free, and whole. Every individual is the expert of their own life and is wise, intuitive, and has the capacity to heal.

I will actively use my training and experience to help you meet your needs & goals. Successful treatment is a direct result of mutual efforts, honesty, respect, and collaboration. Life is full of transitions. Many transitions require skill to navigate. Some happen easily and others require thought, planning and occasionally outside help. I regularly help people manage depression, anxiety, life & work transitions, relationship problems, the processing of and recovery from trauma, and developmental issues throughout the lifespan.

As a clinical therapist, I help people who are struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression and loss. I teach my clients to practice what I call "the reverse golden rule": treat yourself as you would treat others! We are often so critical of ourselves, while with a friend we would be kind, supportive, compassionate. My 20+ years of experience have given me the tools to work using an eclectic approach that I tailor to each client. I offer a comfortable, safe environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, where you can feel heard, understood and validated.

Even after your diagnosis and medication, you are still having problems with ADHD. Why is that? Wasn't the medication supposed to treat the illness? You're not alone. Many people feel the relief of an ADHD diagnosis and finally understand that it isn't their fault, only to begin treatment and not see meaningful results. The problem is that ADHD medicine does not provide you with encouragement, support, and compassionate accountability. And by compassionate accountability, I mean reminding you that it is okay to make mistakes. You need more than just dopamine, you need a framework to understand yourself.
