As human being, I know that life situations could be difficult to manage by our own. However, past traumas, bad relationships (toxic/domestic abuse), stress, divorces, financial struggles, mental health disorders, depression, grieves...DON"T have to determine our life moving forward. IT IS POSSIBLE to recover from those big stones that we find in our life path! I love to work with my clients from a healing/recovery perspective and none judgmental attitude to help them get a better quality of life.

I see individuals and couples for all types of issues; burnout, anxiety, depression, adult diagnosis (or suspicion) of neurodiversity, trauma, relationship issues, identity issues, and more. All of these are great reasons to seek out counseling. Whether you don't know where to start, or you have a specific issue you want to work on, that's okay; we'll figure it out together. So much of therapy is about the relationship between client and therapist. My clients want a space where they feel safe to explore and process their emotions, while looking for solutions to get more in touch with themselves.

Maybe you've always known that therapy would be helpful, but it never seemed that urgent, until now. Whatever it was that motivated you to seek help, an anxiety attack, that ongoing depression, a relationship issue, or old memories that still sting - you deserve a supportive and safe place to fully explore your experience. One of my passions is working with women and queer folks re-discovering themselves after difficult experiences. I also enjoy working with couples navigating relationship difficulties, and people processing religious trauma, among many other issues not listed here.

Whether you're struggling with relational conflict, processing trauma or grief, or wanting to break a cycle of anxiety or depression that's holding you back, my goal is to help you lift the weight from your shoulders, live in the moment, and look forward with optimism.
I have a passion for working with people experiencing life transitions, including divorce or loss, forming new step families, co-parenting, or struggling with parenting concerns. My approach is to explore problems systemically, viewing each client within the context of the world around them. In therapy sessions we will explore trans-generational patterns of behavior that exist within you, and within your family of origin and your family of choice.

I use a blend of somatic (body-centered) treatment and evidence based practices like cognitive behavior therapy to help support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, limiting thoughts, stuck behavioral patterns, and trauma.
Contrary to what movies show you about therapy, I won’t give you unwanted advice or simply nod solemnly the whole session. I bring curiosity, compassion, humor, free expression, and movement to join with my clients and help them explore what healing means to them. I hope to empower clients to access their natural abilities and to gently disrupt the unhealthy patterns we humans often get stuck in using more than traditional “talk therapy” approach. My goal is to facilitate somatic healing, so your whole body begins to feel better as you gain new awareness and get “unstuck” from the patterns you’re ready to release.

Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. If you're in a cycle of depression, stress, or anxiety, it's time to prioritize and care for yourself. When suffering goes unchecked it has a way of affecting your personality, your performance, and your relationships. You lose perspective, patience, and the ability to cope effectively. In time, negative thinking becomes a way of life.

Ready to get started? I offer a playful, warm, and conversational therapy environment to address ADHD, career issues, relationships, anxiety, depression, and more.
Life as an ADHDer can feel like persisting in a world not built for you. You got that message from teachers if school became overwhelming and you weren't taught new coping skills. Or you might be burnt out at work, comparing yourself and feeling behind. Those closest to you may not understand your struggles with organization, time management, impulsivity, and sensitivity. Maybe you've been in therapy before, but focusing on just anxiety or depression hasn't helped much. And all of this is more confusing if you were diagnosed as an adult or aren't yet diagnosed. Ultimately, you just want to feel in control of your own life.

Online Therapists

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?

One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialized therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?

Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?

The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
