You deserve the very best therapist. Therapy isn’t easy to dive into, right? I get that! My 20 years of combined experience as a LICSW, Music Therapist, Somatic Yoga Teacher (for all body types) and Army Behavior Health Provider has given me rich experience with all sorts of unique people, and I’m not your cookie cutter therapist. I’ll be very real and authentic with you. I deeply appreciate pain and trauma, and how it can dismantle your life. And if I’m not the best therapist for you, I will be honest and help you to find someone who is. You deserve to have the life you want again, and I’m committed to helping you get that back.

Living as a human being is inherently difficult: pain, change, and loss are guaranteed. When you couple these principles with the slings and arrows of trauma and the challenges of our present moment on Earth, our identities can become compounded with suffering and confusion. Knotted up in these ways, it can be difficult for each of us to connect in relationships, to feel fulfillment in our work and passions, and to know who we are. Whether we label this with a diagnosis or simply call it suffering, the effects are very real. I suspect you're familiar with this territory.

Stressors related to work, relationships, medical conditions and other key areas of life occur every single day, and sometimes they may become overwhelming and out of control. Most of the time, we are able to help ourselves out of these types of situations, but there are times when it is too challenging to handle alone. When that happens, we often find ourselves stuck and unable to react, or continue to use solutions that may not be the best for us. It can be very draining and demotivating, and spiraling out of control. We sometimes want someone to find a solution for us, while at other times, we just want someone to listen to us.

Reaching out for help can be the hardest part of the therapy journey. Congratulations for taking that first step! I have over 20 years of experience in the behavioral health and addiction field. I utilize a client-centered approach which allows you to take an active role in treatment, CBT, which is used to assist you in developing alternative ways of thinking to change your unwanted behavior, and motivational interviewing, which is a conservation between client and therapist, with a goal to strengthen motivation and commit to change. Feel free to call or email me with any questions!

Glad to offer immediate openings for clients in WA and ID! I will work collaboratively with you to address your most challenging mental health concerns. It is tough work facing and feeling things we typically want to avoid. As we get started, it’s important to ensure that you feel completely safe to bring your full self into session— thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Our time needs to be effective and results-driven, and in my years in practice I’ve built a skillset that utilizes evidence based practices (EBPs) in tandem with your unique strengths and innate talents and adds to your mental health toolbox.

Meaningful and lasting change can result from powerful therapeutic conversations. I look forward to supporting you on your unique walk in this world. Trained in Narrative, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused, Trauma Recovery, and Systems therapies, I work hard to meet your goals in an efficient and effective way. Exceptions to an identified problem often point the way to elegant solutions; individuals frequently discover they already know the best solutions to their problems-to-solve. With oodles of warm, active support, we identify those solutions and how to bring them into your life.
