I have been a therapist for 13 years and primarily use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and expressive methods (writing, art, and play) to engage clients and families.
As a child and family therapist I work with tweens, teens and young adults (11-25 yr. old) and caregivers. Adolescence can be fun and also sometimes stressful, confusing, and painful. I work with young people experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, emotional dysregulation/distress, relationship challenges, and who may identify as neurodivergent. I also work with parents. As parents, whether our child is or is not willing to get therapeutic support, doing our own work to care effectively can have invaluable impact in our children's lives. I help parents to better understand their child, support regulation, and model effective skills.

Today you are one step closer to a new you who feels empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. As a client-centered counselor, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I am also a WA State Approved Supervisor.

Being human is challenging. Am I enough? Too much? Feelings of anxiety and inadequacy can interfere with one’s ability to connect with the self and others. Personal growth requires integration of the mind, body, and soul. Understanding past wounds, exploring difficult emotions and identifying behavioral patterns are steps to creating more fulfilling relationships and providing relief from pain and hurt in one’s life. With empathy, acceptance, and openness, I aim to be a guide along your path toward self-discovery, authenticity, and belonging. *I am an LGBTQIA+ Kink/Poly Ally, I believe in social justice and racial equity.

We will work together using a variety of evidence-based practices: emotionally focused therapy, the developmental model of couples therapy, mindfulness practices, polyvagal theory, the Incredible Years parenting program, focusing (somatic therapy) and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Relationships can be hard, especially the parenting one. My style of therapy is based on the latest research in how the brain (neuroscience geek!), body, and emotions work together. For 20 years, I've partnered with individuals and couples, facilitating thriving relationships: parent-child, partners, co-parenting couples, divorcing couples. The most important relationship is the one we have with ourselves. I can help you explore relational wounds and teach you new skills to experience more satisfying relationships. Let's talk and see if we're a good fit.

You are looking for a therapist who will fully see you for who you are and use strategies backed by science, such as cognitive behavioral therapy.
You are feeling stuck, experiencing stress, depression, or anxiety, or simply overwhelmed with life. You feel bad about yourself, and you’re constantly depleted of energy. Your relationships with people who are important to you - such as your partner, children, other family members, or friends - are suffering, and you’re not able to assert the boundaries you need, to put yourself first, or to feel happy or in control. Perhaps you’re overwhelmed with stress related to identities that are important to you, such as your sexual identity, gender or gender identity, race, ethnicity, or religion. You know there must be another way.

Personal finances and financial behavior are just as much about feelings as they are about finances. Recognizing how money makes you feel (ashamed, anxious, overwhelmed, insecure, etc.) will allow you to better understand yourself and to manage your money in a way that makes you feel empowered. Compulsive spending, financial enabling, financial avoidance, and financial conflict are just a few of the reasons someone might seek financial therapy.

In this strengths-based approach, I utilize techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure Therapy, and Radical Acceptance.
Available for weekend and weeknight sessions! Currently, I am specializing in relationship issues, self-esteem, and women’s issues. I have more than 8 years of experience working with anxiety, mood disorders, and complex trauma. My strong suits are empathy and my ability to really understand where someone is coming from, and I use that to develop a positive path forward. Rather than sticking to a particular method, I custom tailor my session to meet the unique needs of each individual. Earlier in my career, I was published in peer-reviewed journals for my research in Clinical Psychology.

I work WITH people to identify and address disruptive and/or negative thought/ behavior patterns; allowing the client to develop strategies to deal with old triggers and current stressful situations.
Are you experiencing depression, anxiety, fears, anger, relationship, or family problems? Has balancing personal life and work become too much? These are all examples of our response to stress. Some people are dealing with everyday stressors and others bring traumatic experiences into the mix. When trauma collides with stress, life becomes challenging. Addressing these issues is both rewarding and scary. With compassion/humor I work with each person at their starting point and on the issues they bring. I see myself as the Sherpa who holds the lights and other tools to help make the path safe for you.

The goals of therapy are directed toward providing a positive and collaborative forum to ease presenting difficulties; and draw on the individual's strengths and resilience to enable greater contentment and satisfaction in life. The foundation from which I view issues is from a systems approach. Thus, my focus is on the relational context that each individual resides within. Additionally, I borrow ideas from Attachment , Emotionally Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, and EMDR constructs when tailoring goals developed for each person's unique needs.
