I specialize in working with young adults, kids, teens, families, and groups through an eclectic person-centered approach utilizing modalities such as somatic, CBT, art, motivational interviewing, + more.
I work with clients to process trauma, emotions, and life stressors; cope with and ease symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and post-traumatic stress and expand their window of tolerance/what they are able to tolerate; rewire thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and thereby one’s environment to align with their authentic truth and desires; define and draw boundaries; and identify core beliefs. I love to help women create a life in alignment with their menstrual cycle (intentional scheduling, eating, intimacy, and socializing for optimal energy functioning), as well as help all people structure and deepen their spiritual path.

I see therapy as an opportunity to work toward growth, self-discovery, and healing. I believe that people come to me not only with where they may be stuck or hurting, but also with incredible strengths and abilities. Through warmth, collaboration, and direct communication I hope to help uncover patterns that are getting in the way of living well. I use an experiential, emotion + body focused approach along with art therapy and practical tools to develop new ways of experiencing and approaching the hard stuff in life.

When I’m needing a little more alone time, I like to read or work on my creativity through knitting and creating wall art for my home!.
Life comes at us fast and we’re not always ready for it but that’s okay! I believe that we all crave connection with our peers, friends, family, and partners. And when we aren’t working on those connections, we’re working to build our connection with ourself. To fully work through that and make progress, I use a direct approach in helping clients address concerns that may arise from their connections with others or with themself. I believe that the most progress can be made when it’s accompanied with empathy and unconditional positive regard - two pillars of therapeutic work to foster growth and a sense of safety.

In addition to talk therapy, I gently invite clients to explore their full range of expression through art making, storytelling, music, breathwork, and movement; the body can understand truth in ways that words cannot.
I believe in honoring your intersecting identities and how they contextualize your experience. As a multicultural/mixed Asian American (Korean/Filipino/white), highly sensitive, queer femme, the question of how to navigate life in the duality has perpetually challenged and inspired me throughout my life, delivering me to this work. I'm passionate about working with clients of marginalized gender, sexuality, and racial identities who are exploring their truths related to culture, race, generation, and queerness. I hope that together we can explore the important intersection of personal transformation and social change.

With online scheduling & the ability to work with an online therapist, accessing high quality therapy is incredibly easy! Just grab your sketchbook + some art supplies and login.
As a mom you believe you can just do it all & once you get through the next big busy day you'll finally catch your breath. Except, those days never come. Trying to support your kid's emotional demands has you coming in last. As far as what others’ see, you’ve got it all together, you're living a happy & fulfilled life. You’re accomplished, hardworking, reliable & appear to be somehow rocking out the illusive life balance. But inside, you feel stuck, overwhelmed & like you’re just going through the motions. You never feel present in the moment & the overbearing voice in your head is quick to let you know you’ll never be good enough.

Art Therapy

How does art therapy work?

The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?

Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?

The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?

Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
