Currently only accepting couples & families. Each of us is navigating a unique journey and encountering barriers along the way. At times, we may find ourselves feeling lost or stuck. Much of our longing stems from three simple but profound needs: we want to be seen, chosen, and understood. Whether you're grappling with excessive self-criticism, physical symptoms of emotional dysregulation, or the aftermath of challenging life circumstances, transitions, or oppressive social systems, I'm here to offer support. Together, we can work on regulating your nervous system and fostering a fulfilling and healthy life.

During our lives, we encounter experiences that can move us away from a direct connection to ourselves. Influences from family, friends, peers, jobs, and the greater culture can affect how we view and express ourselves. We can become conditioned to thinking, feeling and behaving in a way that is incompatible with who we really are and what we want in our lives. This compromises our ability to value our unique identity and to express and apply ourselves, and our strengths. I will help you to identify, understand and remove barriers that are keeping you from realizing your fullest potential. I offer Telehealth only in California.

I use creative approaches including art, music, play, sand, creative writing and movement with a cognitive-behavioral lens to teach healthy coping skills and encourage self-awareness and self-expression.
My desire is to create a safe place for adolescents and young adults to express themselves and work through the challenges of life. Growing up brings many natural transitions that can be challenging at times. With additional life stressors, life can feel overwhelming. Problems at school, low self-esteem, family conflict, past traumas, loss/grief, and other issues can create strong feelings that get in the way of normal functioning. I believe every person has a story of resilience and my role is to help integrate past experiences, cope with present hardships and create hope for the future.

I am also trained in Art Therapy for those who would like to experience a different kind of therapy.
People who work with me are often questioning whether their eating/body image issues are "bad" enough to get help. They struggle with wanting to know the right thing to do with food and exercise. They often feel guilty for caring so much about their weight and what they eat, but they don't know how to change their thoughts and behaviors. They just want to feel comfortable in their own skin for once, and to not have to worry about food or weight. Some of the people I work with also struggle with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I enjoy working with folks with a variety of concerns.

I specialize in working with young adults, kids, teens, families, and groups through an eclectic person-centered approach utilizing modalities such as somatic, CBT, art, motivational interviewing, + more.
I work with clients to process trauma, emotions, and life stressors; cope with and ease symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and post-traumatic stress and expand their window of tolerance/what they are able to tolerate; rewire thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and thereby one’s environment to align with their authentic truth and desires; define and draw boundaries; and identify core beliefs. I love to help women create a life in alignment with their menstrual cycle (intentional scheduling, eating, intimacy, and socializing for optimal energy functioning), as well as help all people structure and deepen their spiritual path.

I look forward to providing you with a customized therapeutic experience based on your individual needs, whether that be talk therapy or art therapy.
I know how challenging taking the first step toward getting help and support can be. It is difficult to find a therapist that feels like the right fit, to feel heard and well supported in those initial sessions. As your therapist, I will do my best to facilitate an authentic connection, where you feel seen, heard and compassionately understood. Holding space as you navigate your internal world and the way external influences (past trauma, families of origin etc) impact it will be one of my most important roles.

These could include art therapy, dream work, movement, mindfulness, observation of symbolic processes or reminiscing.
Are you struggling with something? You might feel like life isn’t as vibrant as it once was, or relationships are fraught with conflict. It can be difficult to get out of these places in life on our own. You might feel like it’s best to tough it out or figure it out alone, but you don’t have to. Most of my clients struggle with depression and trauma which causes their lives to feel less like places of their own creation and more like somewhere they just ended up. I welcome clients of all backgrounds who are seeking agency and meaning.

Art Therapy

How does art therapy work?

The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?

Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?

The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?

Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
