I look at the whole person, including; their childhood experiences, past trauma, relationships, family systems/family/support systems, health and wellness, lifestyle, choices, life skills, stress management, healthy outlets, communication, self-awareness, life-balance, values and beliefs, financial, self-care, and other influences. I believe that we all have things in life that we need help dealing with or working through. As a counselor I provide a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental place for people to get the help they are seeking. I use several therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, somatic experiencing and emotional focused therapy to name a few. When working with couples I use the Gottman marriage approach as well as the therapies listed above. I may explore with the client their past and present in order to promote self-discovery/awareness that will assist them with the outcome they desire.

I am a specialist in treating sex addiction/betrayal trauma as well as it's related issues: depression, anxiety, etc. I also treat family members and spouses who have been affected by addiction and find themselves dealing with betrayal trauma. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and have been working with betrayal trauma and addiction for many years. In our office we work as a team to help both the individual and the couple recover from the impact of addiction and move forward in meaningful ways. As a trauma specialist I am also an EMDR and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) provider.
