I have specialized training in Art Therapy, Jungian-oriented psychotherapy, Play Therapy and Sandplay, and Telemental Health Therapy.
At times in our lives we may find that the pain of events is seemingly more than one can handle, and life questions are too great. During these passages, healing and stress reduction can be aided through a therapeutic alliance with a mental health counselor. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I listen to, and witness your story. I provide a safe and confidential environment to explore those issues which most challenge you. It is an honor for me to provide counseling services for those seeking healing and an increase in the quality of their lives. Currently, I work with adults via teletherapy only.

I see adult clients who are interested in short term and long term therapy. Clients come to work on many concerns including anxiety, depression, grief, manic depression, and relationship troubles at home and at work. Most clients arrive seeking insights about themselves and their reactions to others, and they are interested in exploring new thought and behavioral patterns. I am able to help them explore both their conscious and unconscious patterns through reflection, conversation, psychological testing, dream work and sand play.

I enjoy working with individual adults interested in understanding themselves, their relationships, and their actions. My therapy practice includes play therapy and art therapy, sand-play, active listening, family systems work, and parenting education. I am curious and compassionate in my relationship to clients with varying needs and backgrounds.

With EMDR, PACT for couples, Sandplay, mindfulness, and somatic awareness, we find deeper understanding and support positive change.
I work with a diversity of adults experiencing relationship issues, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and life transitions. Are you feeling stuck in in a pattern but unsure how to break out of it? Are you struggling to find a sense of balance or hope, navigating life transition, feeling afraid to engage in activities you once enjoyed? You may be experiencing self-judgment, low self-worth, shame, or just seeking change. These are common issues that bring people to therapy, and can be an opportunity for deeper growth and acceptance. When you feel seen and heard in therapy, deep healing is possible.

I specialize in using Attachment Focused EMDR and Jungian psychology such as dream analysis, active imagination, and sandplay to mend early attachment wounds and complex trauma.
I am passionate about working with Asian Americans and the Chinese population. I have a lot of experience in helping international students and employees navigate life transitions and challenges. My clinical areas of specialty include personal growth and development, anxiety and depression, interpersonal problems, grief and loss issues, trauma, and stress-related problems. I believe the difficulties serve a purpose: to provide us the chance to reveal authenticity and completeness in our life. Life seems to be falling apart when you focus on the broken pieces. I will help you see how they will come together to form the whole.

I believe that the relationship to our self is the most important relationship that we will ever have. A bond with a therapist who witnesses and understands us in a nonjudgmental way can be a wonderful ally in improving that relationship and making positive changes in our lives. Trauma, attachment issues, toxic families of origin, oppression, grief, and ancestral/family patterns are just some just some examples that can cause suffering that motivates someone to start therapy. I have experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, and other mood disorders that make it difficult to function in life.

As a mental health therapist specializing in children, adolescents, and families, my journey in supporting young individuals began at the age of fifteen. This early start allowed me to cultivate an understanding of the unique challenges that children and adolescents face, setting the foundation for my passion and commitment to making a positive impact in their lives. I have accumulated valuable experience providing mental health support within schools, particularly in special education programs focused on addressing behavioral needs.

I work with individuals, couples, and families. Counseling is an art form.... the art of listening, the ability to create visual understanding of deeply embedded meaning regarded as truth vs. constructions. Healing begins when a client feels safe enough to deconstruct and replace maladaptive beliefs and behaviors. Integrating new perspectives and a fresh understanding of old stories is a means to sustainable change - a gift of self acceptance. As a therapeutic guide, I believe that each of us is the best source of our own healing....I am there to facilitate what is already true and wise in each client.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
