As an experienced perinatal mental health and relationship therapist, I believe healing and connection are possible in life’s toughest challenges.
As a parent and member of the LGBTQ+ community, you face unique challenges and societal pressures that can strain your relationships. You may be fed up with feeling disconnected from your partner(s) and overwhelmed by the challenges of parenthood, feeling isolated and struggling to communicate effectively. You might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to feel heard and understood. You’re ready to rekindle the connection and joy in your relationships. Most of all, you’re ready to transform your relationship into a source of strength and support.

Currently accepting new clients. I work with couples, polycules, new relationships, platonic life partners, friends, groups and families. I am passionate about serving folks who are part of the 2SL-GBTQIA+ and poly/ethical non-monogamy communities. Living in a society that prioritizes profit over people and systematically privileges & oppresses based on identity takes a large toll. I believe therapy is a resource to help us navigate this world & be intentional about how we show up in ourselves and our relationships. My approach is to meet people where they are at and provide tools and practices to aid them in living authentically.

I provide counseling to individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds.
The power to heal is already inside you. Yet, since most of our wounding has happened in relationship, our healing happens here, too. Together, through a safe therapeutic relationship, a return to your inborn wholeness can happen. All aspects of you are welcome when working with me. Our work will originate in the here and now, learning to meet what shows up with care and compassion and to make the changes that lead to a greater sense of wellbeing. I love counseling those in transition— be that career, gender, or otherwise. I draw from feminist, existential, Buddhist, and somatic frameworks and work from a trauma-informed lens.

My practice focuses on empowering adult individuals and couples, with special focus on: sex, sexuality, intimacy, infidelity, poly/open relationships, trauma, grief, career development, communication issues, and life adjustments.
My overall approach is collaborative and client-centered, with a commitment to anti-oppression in every facet of my work. I believe, with warm, respectful, authentic support, every person has the ability to identify inner resources and acquire skills that will empower them to find healing and fulfilling relationships to self and others. My style is compassionate and appropriately direct. While I find exploration of the past useful, I prefer to use the 'here-and-now' to realize and effect change.

I love talking about the process of therapy itself to make our relationship stronger and to enhance and deepen our work together.
Are you finding yourself feeling overwhelmed by emotion or seeking out ways to numb yourself? Relationships might make you feel alone or isolated and seeking connections that bring comfort and happiness. Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself, your inner strengths, resiliency, and capacity for deep joy and meaning. It can feel liberating to work through difficult issues and feel more alive in the here and now. Even in times of great stress and uncertainty, therapy can help build on your unique strengths and resources, to feel more empowered and connected to others and community.

I offer holistic individual, family, couples/ relationship, and group therapy.
Healing and caring for ourselves is hard work. Sometimes painful, often fulfilling, occasionally tedious, it is a necessary part of being open to the experiences that life has to offer us. Therapy is one way to find support in healing from trauma, managing our health, and discovering and practicing new ways of caring for ourselves. As Audre Lorde wrote, "Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare." This work is important, both individually and collectively, and I am here to help you with it.

I specialized in couples work, trauma, grief and loss, and men’s issues.
Our life is a journey. The journey can present us with challenges we are unsure of how to handle. If you have ever been caught in a rainstorm you’ll know you just want to have a safe place to wait it out. Or you could want a safe way to get through the storm faster. Sometimes we just wish we had someone there to be in the storm with us so we knew we weren’t alone. You are not alone. We can experience that storm together. Therapy, just like life is a collaborative process. Together we can address the challenges you face.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
