I specialize in helping teens and adult individuals and couples find healing from a variety of mental health issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, anger issues, and challenges with grief and loss, as well as conflict in relationships.
Reaching out for help when you're struggling is one of the bravest things you can do, and the first step in finding true healing. Life is full of surprises which can sometimes seem impossible to overcome. However, with proper guidance and some hard work, the road ahead can look much brighter. I offer a nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe and comfortable sharing your story. I would be honored to partner with you to help you reach your goals through an individualized treatment plan and growth process. My goals are always to help you believe in yourself and move toward becoming the best version of yourself.

The areas in which he has the most experience are Grief and Loss, Life Transitions, Substance Use (A&D Assessments, the Matrix Model for Substance Abuse, and ASAM Criteria Review), Anger Mngmt, LGBTQ+ issues, and EMDR.
Do you feel "stuck?" In other words, you are at a point of change, something HAS to change, and sometimes you have no clue what change to make. And, on top of that . . . you are afraid of change. Life's shows us that change is inevitable, whether the change is planned or not. Often along with that change come some very strong emotions, stress in our relationships, trauma, and usually we are confronted with some decisions we have to make. Hopefully, the challenge we face also presents us with the possibility of new dreams and maybe brings us closer to achieving long held goals.

By this, I mean, a person who feels that something is "off" in their mental and or emotional life and would like help exploring this in a non-judgmental, safe space. I believe we are called to peace and joy and yet so many of us struggle with fear, sorrow, regret, anger, anxiety, depression, trauma.

I believe that therapy can benefit all of us. It helps to reduce stress and can improve our overall quality of life. If you are experiencing difficulties with mood, anxiety, anger, trauma or grief, I may be able help. In my experience, the most important aspect of therapy is the building of rapport between you and your therapist. With this in mind, I focus first on listening, being curious and respecting the fact that the people who I work with are the experts on their own lives. With a foundation of understanding then in place, we can work on achieving your individual goals.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
