My focus is on helping people improve themselves and help them enjoy their lives. I think sometimes to get better outcomes, if we might want to change our behaviors/thoughts/feelings. Typically I use DBT, CBT and behavioral techniques that might help us make some changes. An engaged client that puts in some effort during session and/or towards their treatment plan that usually does best. Only sees adults, over +18.

With this knowledge in hand; grief, anxiety, trauma, depression, or OCD will hold no horror or pain you can't manage.
In my opinion, REM said it best. Everybody hurts. I'll bet you're no different from every other person in this regard. I know I'm not. If you want to recover from trauma, heal your grief, calm your anxious mind, or navigate your emotions then I can help! I'm a big nerd who loves to learn and share information. Real science is a passion of mine and if I had the time I would spend hours digging into it.

Maybe you're tired of suffering from being bossed around by OCD or anxiety. Perhaps you’re in a painful life transition and feeling uncertain, afraid, or lost. I’m glad you’re here. If you feel hopeless, I believe things can get much better, one step at a time. Although it sure can feel this way, rather than viewing OCD or anxiety as a monster trying to torture us, I see it as a hypervigilant alert system whose aim is to keep us safe at all costs. Retraining that alert system can help us get unstuck, heal, and thrive. I never claim to have the answers for anyone’s life, but I love helping people find answers within themselves.

While these are the things I am most passionate about I also enjoy and have experience working with depression, anxiety, and OCD.
Are you currently in a relationship where you're not happy but can't seem to get yourself to leave? Maybe you feel emotionally stuck or confused and have tried leaving only to return to the same unhappy relationship where nothing seems to change. On the other hand, you might feel that you keep entering into relationships in which you are treated poorly but can't figure out why. Perhaps you're dating and finding "the one" seems impossible. You feel sad and disappointed, no one seems to understand, and you don't know what else to do to make things better. I'm here to tell you that things can change and I am here to help!

Some areas I am especially experienced in working with include past trauma, depression, attachment, ADHD, high-masking autism, OCD, and anxiety.
Have you been told you are "too sensitive" or "too much"? Are you finding it difficult to live in, enjoy, or focus on the present moment? Maybe images, thoughts, or feelings of the past keep appearing despite your best efforts. Perhaps worries of the future and its endless possibilities keep you from sleeping at night. Sometimes it may feel impossible to "just look at the bright side!". This may have led to you being unable to focus at work or school, spending less time with the people or hobbies you care about, or simply going through the motions of day-to-day life.

I treat anxiety in many forms, including panic disorder, health anxiety, phobias, OCD, worry, and distress related to adjustment and parenting.
Overwhelmed by all the options on here? Wondering whom you'll feel comfortable opening up to? Who will make therapy feel rewarding, even when it's painful. Who will have the expertise to help? I've scrolled here too. I value a therapist who is warm and engaging, who can support you and challenge you to grow at the same time. In my endorsements you can see how other therapists describe my style. I also value a therapist with true expertise. The conditions I treat are traps in which it's easy to get stuck, but hard to break free–unless you have the guidance and support of a specialist who knows how they work.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
