I currently hold a Washington State Associate License in Mental Health Counseling after receiving my Master’s in Counseling from Central Washington University. Prior to this I received a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Western Washington University. My primary work in therapy has been with children and teens, though I have also spent a great deal of time working with adults of all ages in individual and couples counseling. My main areas of focus include adjustment issues/life transitions, mood and anxiety disorders, behavioral issues, attachment issues, family issues, identity issues, family trauma, parenting, and mindfulness.

The therapeutic relationship should empower an individual to regain ownership of their life, shifting negative self-talk and other impacts of trauma; allowing for holistic healing and growth. It is my hope to actively walk alongside my client as they work to create their peace; ultimately gaining an improvement in positive self-awareness and optimism, with a side of lasting security and emotional health.

I have worked in a variety of settings in the Mental Health Field including working as a supervisor at the King County Crisis Line for ten years and recently at Harborview doing crisis intervention and psychotherapy. My passion has always been doing therapy and helping people have better lives. The process of therapy and success needs to be defined by the patient. My style of therapy after 25 years is my own.

I have worked with clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities within community health care environments in various roles over the past 10 years which has led me to become the therapist that I am today. I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Washington State University. Based upon my professional and personal experiences, I specialize in learning/developmental disabilities, anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment, grief, and co-occurring diagnoses.
