As an immigrant, I understand that life is a journey and as part of that we encounter countless challenges. Going through difficult times and learning to cope with them are opportunities to become wiser and more mindful. However, life challenges can be daunting and hard to overcome. I believe that therapy can help you make sense of your circumstances and cultivate insights and awareness so that you can change and grow. I work with adults 18 and older with an emphasis on mindfulness, attachment-based and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches.

I admire the courage it takes to seek help and make change, and believe everyone has the capacity for healing. I bring compassion and curiosity to my person centered work with clients. My approach is collaborative, feedback driven, strengths based, and often infused with play, art, and nature therapy techniques. While the work we do will be as unique as each client, I am most inspired by internal family systems, emotionally focused therapy, solution focused brief therapy, and AEDP.

Whether "you" are an individual, couple or family, I am always honored to get to know you and help facilitate the emergence of your unique core self which lies ready to be seen, known and fully lived.
No matter how straight & smooth we try to make it, life is, by nature a crooked line & a bumpy road! Depression, anxiety, grief, trauma...all by-products of living life. Fortunately, we are hard-wired for health; drawn to people & situations that foster our transformance. However, we develop coping/protective mechanisms that hinder that innate tendency to thrive. We create stories about ourselves & the world that keep us scared & isolated. Therapy is the sacred and confidential space in which these, up until now, forbidden feelings, self-thoughts, memories can be carefully, sensitively and intentionally brought forth into the light.

I have an intimate understanding of blended families and appreciate the complexities that these unique family unions present.
The relationships that we put so much work into with those that we love are often the same relationships that cause the most hurt. Feelings of disappointment, distress, hurt, anxiety, and depression are part of our life experience- but we don’t have to stay there. The choice is yours to make. I have learned through life experience that crisis events happen, problems arise, and change is really difficult, but it is so worth it!

My passion is working with couples, the foundation of the family.
Welcome! We are all emotional and relational beings so naturally our greatest happiness and heartache often come from our relationships and are ongoing throughout our lives. Experiencing anxiety, depression, feelings of being stuck, loneliness, spiritual challenges, struggling with communication issues, moving through discouragement, and unmet expectations in yourself and/or loved ones, is not a sign of failure or weakness. These experiences simply remind us we are human and provide opportunities for growth. The choice to do something different is yours. I welcome the walk with you on your journey of hope and transformation.

I draw upon several modalities, including cognitive-behavioral, attachment-based, person-centered, AEDP, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and emotionally-focused therapy.
I believe that sometimes our greatest challenges can be a doorway to important change and growth. This can be true in our personal lives, romantic relationships, and families. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for healing many issues, including grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, confusion, relationship issues, life transitions, and worry. I enjoy working with Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and people who identify as neurodivergent; I have a lot of empathy for those who feel deeply and have a more sensitive nervous system.

I work with clients who want more satisfaction and meaning in life and relationships. The pain of anxiety, low mood, ADHD, addictive or compulsive behaviors, transitions, loss, trauma, or relational distress motivates them to look for change. They are curious about knowing themselves more deeply, through the heart and felt-sense experience, as well as the intellect. To grow beyond the safety of the familiar self in meaningful ways, they are willing to face some discomfort and vulnerability, and commit to useful behaviors and habits. They value this one precious life they have here, and want to make the best of it.

By addressing troubling thoughts and feelings, self-sabotaging behaviors, and traumas, life can be made more manageable, productive, and fulfilling. Feelings such as grief, shame, anxiety, sadness, and anger often signal that something needs to change. Listening to and working with these feelings—some that consume us and others that gently nudge us—can move us forward. Through this, we sometimes discover that our everyday dilemmas are part of larger patterns waiting to be resolved as a whole.

I help people struggling with attachment difficulties and unprocessed pain find relief and live more effective, connected, and fulfilling lives. The people that I treat in my practice show up because something in their lives is no longer working (they may not even know what exactly that something is yet), and they are tired of suffering and are ready to try something different. They are committed to exploring their pain and ready to take action to make their lives better. Together, we will uncover the underlying attachment patterns, beliefs, past experiences and emotions that keep you stuck, and help you find ways to move forward.

Accepting clients. To survive in a traumatized, ego-centric culture filled with counterfeit images, we pay a steep price - trauma & pain in our disconnected bodies, loneliness & broken-heartedness in our relationships, an unmet longing for passionate, meaningful engagement with the world. Crisis, illness, pain, suffering & despair become the catalyst for change, awakening our yearning for a more courageous, authentic, embodied life. Speaking to us through symptoms, grief, images, longings, dreams- the soul calls- beckoning us into the unknown, asking us to surrender what no longer serves us. I help people navigate this wilderness.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
