Dr. Amy Ford started Dayspring Behavioral Health in 2012. Dayspring’s values and mission statement are to improve the lives of our community by uncovering strengths, building momentum to overcome life’s challenges. We care deeply about families in our area and are here to help through our counseling services.

I strive to help my clients build confidence to handle life challenges, self & social pressure, so that they can voice their concerns and continue to seek the support they need to overcome any obstacle long after they are done with counseling. Counseling is setup to help provide you with tools/ skills specific to your innate skills and strengths. We work collaboratively to identify environmental factors and your support system.

I am a warm, empathic, and gently challenging counselor. I draw from a range of therapeutic treatment modalities to tailor therapy to you as a unique individual. I welcome enquiries from adults, couples, children and teenagers experiencing a wide range of difficulties. I am dedicated to understanding the internal and external strengths that are inherent in each of us. Welcome! Are you a young adult needing support? Or a parent needing additional parenting strategies, or guidance to better understand/support your child? Are you worried about your child/teen’s emotional well-being or social skills? I enjoy working collaboratively with children and parents alike to improve child and family well-being, often finding that working with both provides the best outcomes for everyone. I have special interests in working with gifted and twice-exceptional (2E) clients and homeschool/online school clients. Lastly I absolutely love working with teens and young adults - they make up a large part of my caseload!

I take a comprehensive family system's approach, which is client centered and focused on the goals you bring to therapy. We will develop a comprehensive treatment plan, taking into consideration family history, health, educational goals/needs, living situation, and cultural aspects of your life. Hello, I’m Lacey, a mental health counselor at Dayspring Behavioral Health. I have recovered from severe OCD and am now an advocate and specialist for those who suffer from the disorder. While I have experience working with folks up to age 60, I am particularly passionate about helping kids and teens face their fears, better regulate their emotions, and enjoy rich, fulfilling lives. You will find me to be compassionate, outgoing, and encouraging of anyone who is struggling, and I enjoy working with a variety of issues, including ADHD, OCD and OCD-spectrum disorders, anxiety and depression, and LGBTQ+ issues.

Parents of children with special needs and learning differences need support, advocacy, and connection. While single parents face overwhelming challenges alone, relationships also suffer as the family is impacted financially, emotionally, and socially, and the roles of husband and wife change. Family life can be overcome by the needs of the child; care for parents is critical as the needs of the child change and stages of development impact parental roles, quality of life, and family dynamics. Identifying and addressing concerns and problem areas early on increases the likelihood that they will be managed successfully.
