We utilize breath-work, mindfulness, somatic processing, and other creative techniques to support your transformation across all aspects of your life that matter to you.
There are times in our lives when we feel stuck. We struggle with transition, grief, and loss. We may find it difficult to relate to others or even ourselves. My approach to therapy with adolescents, men, women, and families is client-centered and collaborative. My role is to help you solve your problems in positive and fulfilling ways. I provide a safe and compassionate place where you can find balance, connection and growth. Because my experience involves working with children, teens, adults and families, I hold a broad scope and view you as a whole person.

I like to tell my clients, this is your therapy, you are the one driving the car. I am just the one in the back seat looking at the map, saying we could go right for the ocean view, or left for the mountains, which way would you like to go? Together we will co-create goals that will fit your circumstances and where you want to go. You are the expert of your situation. I am passionate about working with life transitions and those moments of, “this is not where I want to be, or planned to be in life, so now what?"

We undergo a process of examining your inner life, dreams, fantasies, and imagination to discover the inspiration that will allow you to live an authentic life. My approach is individually-focused and relationship-driven. Whatever challenges you are facing; that with a bit of goodwill and openness, much can be uncovered in a relatively short period of time.

Women seeking healthier relationships are my specialty. Even now, if you are deciding to change how you exist in this world you are already in transformation. Transformation comes through making choices that are conscious, consistent & compassionate and through dis-internalizing systems that are set up to repress and minimize your preciousness. The more we do this, the more we can give & receive love, find our fellow travelers (because we aren't meant to do this alone!) and create safe spaces in otherwise stormy places. With hearts open, and wisdom engaged, change becomes beautifully inevitable.

Life is like a rollercoaster. Cheesy, I know, but it’s one of my favorite metaphors for life. It’s filled with so many ups and downs, at times we’re holding on for dear life and at others, we put our hands up in the air and enjoy the ride. It’s helpful to have someone beside you no matter where you are on the journey, and that’s why I’m here. I use a trauma- and attachment-based approach to target mind, body, and soul. Therapy is a collaborative process, you are in the driver's seat and I in the passenger.

Sometimes we can find ourselves just surviving- moving through our daily tasks and engaging with others while on autopilot. Much like zoning out while driving, coming to and wondering where the last ten miles or thirty minutes went, we can “come to" and find ourselves behaving toward ourselves and others in automatic, disconnected, and even reactive ways. We all want and need to feel seen and heard. I hope to provide a space to be seen and heard without judgement. .

Therapy can feel intimidating to step into and so I hope to meet every client where they are at, whether they have been to therapy before or not. I don't believe you need to have a huge "reason" to reach out for therapy, rather a desire for healing and wholeness in your life and relationships. As a queer therapist, I hold a unique understanding of some of the challenges LGBTQIA+ folks face as they navigate the complex and beautiful journey of living their authentic life and hope to walk alongside them in that journey.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
