My passion is to help parents and teens create healthy, safe, bonded relationships where parents are Accessible, Responsive, and Engaged and teens are able to explore their world while still maintaining connection to their roots. I desire to help couples experience relationship transformation like my husband and I discovered though EFT. Before our journey, we were stuck in a cycle of what felt like never-ending conflict – maybe a different subject, but always the same feeling of disconnection with no resolution. Now, whenever we experience rupture, we are able to quickly repair and resolve any issue.

In the past ten years I have worked with young adolescents, teenagers and young adults struggling with depression and anxiety, adult survivors of sexual abuse, and adults suffering from anxiety, depression, relationship/marital concerns, and other mental health difficulties in a private practice setting.
I believe that everyone has to cope with life changes, relationship struggles, substance abuse, and other mental health issues and sometimes, finding a successful way to cope with these changes can be hard. I strive to work collaboratively with people who want help to understand the life changes and develop strategies to cope. Therapeutically, I work with clients from a humanistic, client-centered ideology. However, I do not believe there is only one approach to working with someone and instead prefer to collaborate with clients to find an approach that works for them to make counseling a successful experience.

Often childhood neglect/abuse, inconsistent/insecure caregivers, violence and other traumas lead to anxiety/depression among a host of other symptoms including unhealthy relationship patterns and addictions.
As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) I work primarily with men who have cheated, committed infidelity, compulsively use porn/sex and want to heal their relationships and live free. If any of that sounds like you or your partner's situation there is a clear path forward to heal from both the cheating and the betrayal trauma it causes. I would be honored to help you and your partner find your footing and learn to walk that path of recovery. Also am a big believer in groups as a pathway toward growth and healing therefore run a low cost group for all my Sex Addicted clients who are available on Wednesdays at 12pm via Zoom.

I have a particular interest in working with individuals who live alternative lifestyles or are struggling with issues of pregnancy, new parenthood, or romantic and familial relationship difficulties.
My intention is to be a neutral third party with whom a client can express themselves free of judgment, reflect on their own thoughts and experiences, and find their own direction. I strive to understand the person before me from their own perspective based on their unique values, cultural beliefs, and daily stresses and concerns. I believe someone’s difficulties are not always due to abnormal psychopathology but can arise as a normal reaction to an abnormal situation.

While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
