Are you on the autism spectrum or wondering if you are? I provide autism evaluations for adults at a reasonable price. My evaluation focuses just on the question of autism, so you do not to pay for a lot of extra tests which you may not need. I provide counseling to the autism population and general population, as well.

I am passionate about offering specialized services to individuals, couples, and families in gender transition, BIPOC, and the LGBTQ2S+ community, including letter writing in support of gender affirming medical and surgical care. I use culturally competent, research-based modalities to help you shape the change and growth you want to see, and I honor your pace as we approach and engage with the work. Psychology works because it is a way to help people understand their problems and correct or change so that they can live more healthy or satisfying lives. Many people come for therapy if they are experiencing problems with depression, anxiety or relationship issues. Some other common problems that I help treat are problems with work injuries, sleep, weight, stress, trauma, and sexual problems. These problems can be greatly helped through therapy. I employ an eclectic approach to therapy, meeting each individual’s needs rather than using one form of treatment.

CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. I specialize in treating the following client populations: high functioning autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression and trauma. The needs of my clients include: struggles with impulse control, emotional regulation, mood disorders, bullying and social anxiety, to name a few. I work to help my clients develop impulse control strategies, teach coping skills, positive internal dialogue and socially acceptable behavior. I use social stories to support and reinforce therapeutic goals as well as role playing and behavioral rehearsal.

My approach to counseling uses a person-centered perspective with a focus on hope, strength, and empowerment. I also use an integrative approach of mindfulness, relaxation, art, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy when working with people. I believe that all people have the capacity to grow and move forward. They just need some additional support and a person to walk with them. And that is where I come in.

I have been working with families and individuals in the behavioral health field since 1998. I was originally licensed in California after completing my Masters Degree in Counseling and meeting California's thorough and rigid licensing requirements in 2005. In 2007 I received my license in Washington. I value the Therapist/Client relationship and promote a safe and validating environment to heal and process through life's difficult times. I work with adolescents and young adults from the age of 13 providing support in the areas of anxiety, family and school issues, depression, adjustment, authority, and other issues, which are faced in our changing world. I work closely with families from all background, schools, and community to support clients as they gently work through their areas of healing. Also, as an experienced clinician with broad skills in adjustment, I understand the challenges individuals/families face in transition. I have special expertise with psychological assessment for many diagnoses, with short term cognitive behavioral therapy, ADHD coaching, and therapy for anxiety. I work with children and teens in improving school performance, life skills, and family tranquility. These can include those who have experienced trauma; or, someone who is Neurodiverse and is attempting to navigate their life and understand who they are in this world. Sometimes the depression and anxiety are absolutely crippling, to the point where it feels like there is just no way out. Or, you may be a parent with a child who is just struggling and you feel like you have tried everything possible, to help and understand your child but it seems like nothing has worked.

I believe everyone has innate wisdom within themselves to overcome whatever obstacles are in front of them. I specialize in treating children, adolescents, and families that have experienced trauma and consequently suffering from anxiety, depression, attentional difficulties, sleep issues, developmental obstacles. Expressive therapies offers a unique way to language those issues using art, painting, clay work, journal writing, sand tray play and canine therapy, and they begin to externalize worries and concerns, crisis and trauma through symbols and mastery is gained. When families in pain begin to play together, perceptions of each other are changed, communication is accomplished and individuals experience their true potential.
