I believe in actively working with my clients so that they can reach their goals. I often give homework outside the sessions. I believe that your journey can be moving more than just within the time spent in session.

I assist clients with exploring, understanding, and reflecting on themselves and creating their unique treatment plan, based on their unique needs, goals and strengths to improve their quality of life. As well as, monitoring their progress regularly.

Adjustments, stress, dis-order, and dis-ease occur throughout our lifetime requiring our attention. My therapeutic style is informed from experience & education, and influenced through holistic (whole person) & clinical systems. Today, our community and personal lives are overwhelmed by chronic stress of information bombardment, employment & financial concerns, safety for ourselves & family, and concerns for community & country. Anxiety is amplified by excessive stress, and those feelings once under control may now need reinforcement. Mental health check-ups reassure perceptions are adaptable, and hope for tomorrow a reality.

I have a specialty in the area of special needs of children and adolescents. This includes the identification and treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder, learning problems, anxiety and depression in children and adolescence. I have worked with over 10,000 children in my career, and have an extensive background in behavior problems, parent-child relationships, and family violence issues, including child sexual abuse. My personal Christian beliefs and values influence my perspective. At the same time, the beliefs and values of my clients are treated with respect. The therapeutic process should be characterized by openness and a collaborative attitude on both of our parts.
