Currently I am private pay. However, I am in the recredentialing process with Blue Cross, premera, Aetna, Cigna. If you've gone this far, chances are you know you need the support. (Yes it can be hard, and hugely rewarding.) If you're feeling stuck and need some help, give me a call. What we think influences how we feel, many of us react from that. Before we know it, we've become habituated to a pattern of thinking, feeling and reacting. Depression, anxiety, negative thinking patterns; all of these can decrease your quality of life. These cycles can be hard to recognize and stop.

Life is tricky... It's hard and messy and has no one right answer, especially now. Therapy is all about you figuring yourself out without judgment or expectations. Therapy with me, is a bit chaotic and messy too, like life. But trust me, the work is worth it. There is no one right way to "do" therapy or to be a client, but it is about you and what you're willing to bring to the table.

Currently accepting new clients. Experiencing trauma +/or having a chronic illness/pain can be debilitating and affect socialization, engagement in activities, and exacerbate symptoms of mental health. When we have chronic pain, it may feel like our life has no meaning. When we age, we go through many difficult changes which can lead to us question our meaning and purpose. When we experience trauma, we can struggle to find safety, connection, and relationships can prove to be more complex.

We all have an innate longing for intimate human relationship but for many of us, we can't seem to shake this dull aching loneliness that resides in the pit of our souls. However, the inherent human need for meaningful relationships has remained elusive. Many times, it feels easier to isolate than to face the intolerable reality. We have become experts at stifling our needs and desires. But when we enter into the presence of another, when we begin to tell our stories of heartache and pain, healing begins. We need a witness to our grief, someone to join alongside us as we lament. Above all, we need a place to experience belonging.

I believe in order to complete any task; we must commit to the work towards change. Healing is a personal journey, and while we may need help and guidance along the way, we are ultimately responsible in how we participate regarding the outcome. There are no perfect therapist or perfect clients, but there are opportunities to build a therapeutic foundation that can assist a person in getting on the right path.

I work with women who carry the weight of their negative childhood experiences into their adult lives. These experiences can manifest as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or a general sense of being stuck or frozen. When ignored or not dealt with, these deep, impactful experiences from childhood and adolescence eat away at us despite "knowing better" as adults on what to do or how to manage our symptoms. My clients are finding healing from their pasts, finding their voice, and re-discovering who they are and where they want to go in life. I hope to support you, too.

Do you feel there are aspects of your sexuality or sexual self that have been unexplored, overlooked or neglected? Perhaps you're grappling with dissatisfaction and frustration in your current relationship? Maybe you're struggling to recover from infidelity or even contemplating divorce? Although we are inundated with cultural messaging about sex and relationships, most of us were not given the tools that allow us to connect to our partners or granted the space or permission to freely explore the depths of our sexual selves. Let's change that. You deserve fulfilling relationships and an authentic intimate life.

Life – with all its beauty – is filled with adversity. Struggles may be opportunities for growth and development. Without hardship our capacity to reach our full potential is limited. I encourage clients to look inward, recognize their emotions, and explore their current thought and behavior patterns. My goal is to help clients clarify their values, shift their thinking in a self-compassionate way, and practice new behaviors. My approach includes a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing techniques, an experiential creative process (e.g., art, play, sand play), and when appropriate, an existential approach.

Accepting New Clients! I work with adults (18+) who are looking to overcome challenges, define their identities, and unlock their potential. I have a soft spot for serving the 'outsiders': LGBTQIA2S+ folks, kink and fetish enjoyers, sex workers. I'm also a believer in the power of relational healing - we're not meant to go through this life alone. With a mix of somatic therapy practices, I aim to help you find your own path and growth.

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
