Since 1983, in a variety of settings, I have enjoyed working with diverse individuals and couples to overcome their personal, relational, emotional and perceptual problems and build on their strengths for a new and brighter future. I am a Licensed Mental Health therapist and have had my own private practice for 14 years. I have worked with children, adolescents and families for 20 years. I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University and I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and art/ sand tray therapy for children. I believe in the ability for people to heal, grow and change and draw from a holistic, person-centered approach. I have been a therapist, business woman, teacher, school counselor, university professor and mother for over 40 years, and I understand how challenging life can be!

I work with couples and individuals, specializing in improving communication and emotional connection in relationships. Unhappiness in your relationships can have a big impact on your own mental health, leaving you dissatisfied in your life. I also enjoy working with clients going through life transitions. Did you get a new job, start college, or recently graduate? These transitions in life can be emotionally draining. You may notice that you distance yourself from others, feel frustrated, experience worry about the future, and even hopelessness. I also offer supervision and consultation services. I am an approved supervisor for WA.

I am accepting a sliding scale fee for no insurance, no insurance means insurances not on my list, or out-of-network insurances typically will be at a lessor rate, just let me know what you can afford to pay.

I love to assist my clients during a time of transition particular adolescents and young adults. I also love working with parents and their children. I have 5 years in crisis mental health of all ages. I have also worked in the medical and school social work field. I particularly work with adolescents and young adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral concerns and onset of severe mental illness. I also enjoy working with those with bipolar disorder, mood dysregulation, personality disorders and suicide ideation.

I enjoy helping individuals work through their issues by processing their trauma. When a person resolves their trauma the rest of their issues in life usually go away. I believe in a strong collaborative relationship with my client. You are in charge of your recovery. I work with adults who are seeking help with past traumatic events such as sexual assaults, car accidents, medical trauma, relationship traumas,life threatening diagnoses, major life changes. Also clients who may suffer from anxiety disorders or panic. I also have an interest in working with clients who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered and issues surrounding sexual orientation and gender.
