As an experienced trauma therapist, I believed that learning to calm your body/nervous system/memory to traumatic past events is most effective using EMDR.
Are you having difficulty moving past a recent traumatic event that you have witnessed or that has happened to you? Are more on edge, looking for danger everywhere, irritated/lashing out at others, or numbing the pain with drugs/alcohol/work? Are you tired of not being yourself and don’t want to live in fear any longer? You are ready, that is why you are here. There is hope and a return to life without fear. Whether you have experienced a recent traumatic event or have witnessed something traumatic or scary or confusing evidenced based therapy is available to begin reducing your suffering as soon as possible.

I have worked in a variety of roles within the juvenile justice system and schools to advocate for trauma-informed practices and interventions in an effort to help youth and guardians who have been labeled or misunderstood to realize their value and worth within their communities.
We all have experiences that shape who we are and may bring emotional suffering to our lives and relationships. If you are ready to let go of shame, worry and self-doubt, we will work together to build a safe, trusting relationship that helps you to discover your unique strengths and build effective coping strategies. If you're ready to embrace hope for a better tomorrow and are looking for healing and freedom from past hurts, anxiety or depression, then I am hear to listen with compassion and provide guidance on your journey.

I have a deep passion for helping trauma survivors, combat veterans, and people who are struggling with addiction to accomplish and sustain meaningful recoveries in their lives. I provide a non-judgmental, compassionate, and safe therapeutic space to help them achieve their goals. The most rewarding thing for me as a therapist is helping a client work through and heal from the trauma and shame that is so commonly the underlying cause of their substance use, addiction, or mental health challenges.

Individuals with deep rooted emotional concerns, trauma, or issues they do not fully understand may find depth therapy to be a beneficial mode of therapy.
I'm a depth psychotherapist who facilitates healing and transformation through gentle but honest mutual work with emotions, behaviors, imagery, grounding, memory, story, presence, and hope. It's an honor and a privilege to be a partner in my client's journey toward deep inner healing. I'd like to join you on your journey where you already are, and help you find opportunities for symptom relief, growth, and healing.

I also pay attention to how the body carries trauma: insomnia, binge eating, harsh self-talk, etc.
Seeking therapy is a brave and vulnerable step. My specialty is counseling women who are strong, but feel weighed down by trauma, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, and self worth. Perhaps you are searching here because something feels broken in your life: relationships are disconnected, a story haunts you from the past, or emotions are overwhelming. Perhaps you are running from some hidden grief or rejection, and you feel restless or wounded as a result. I can help. You are not alone, and you don't have to stay stuck. Through sessions together you will learn compassion for yourself, which empowers healthier relationships.

Relationships are key to the individual human experience. I believe that it is no coincidence that when we find ourselves struggling in relationships, it has a profound effect on our individual emotional well being, just as experiencing a challenging life event can lead to difficulties in our close relationships. My practice specializes in therapy for individuals, couples, and families who are seeking to strengthen their current relationships following recent conflict, a difficult life event, individual or family trauma, or any other disruptive experiences. I am also currently accepting therapist trainees (post graduate) in need of clinical supervision.

To everyone that knows you – you’ve got it all together. But to be honest, the unresolved pain of past trauma negatively affects your mind, body, and overall well-being. Years of unresolved issues leaves you feel tired, overwhelmed and exhausted. You’re not sure how long you can keep up the facade. Perhaps you have been living up to other people’s expectations in addition to your own, and the load feels heavy.

Areas of practice include: depression & anxiety, family issues, separation/divorce, couples conflict, stress management, self esteem & body image, parenting, grief & loss, trauma, and Clinical Hypnosis for Relaxation & Anxiety Reduction.
New Clients: Current openings between 9-12 only. Everyone struggles at some point in their life. Sometimes we are able to handle life's difficulties on our own and sometimes we could use the help of a professional to conquer our dilemmas. I am honored to help people through those rough patches, and at all times guide them in a nonjudgmental, confidential, caring way. I do not take a 'one size fits all' approach to counseling. I will work with my clients to establish goals and how we will work towards that growth.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
