My passion is in working with teens and young adults who have had to navigate struggles with anxiety, depression, family conflicts, parental divorce, loss, or healing from difficult relationships. The relationships we have throughout life can cause pain, but relationships also have the power to bring healing to those areas of our hearts and minds that have been damaged. This is why a therapeutic relationship is so impactful and why my approach to therapy is relational and collaborative.

Your brain's being a menace and you want that to change. My goal is to help you navigate that change, recognize the difference between uncomfortable and unhealthy, and create an experience, and a life, that you want to participate in. If you've been in and out of therapy for a long time and struggled to find a fit, you're in my wheelhouse. If you're neurodivergent, neurospicy, got the AuDHD two-for-one special, or are just really, really traumatized (or all of the above!), you're part of the group I work with best.

I believe that each of us has the capacity to become knowledgeable about what feels workable in day-to-day living and to uncover what personal values we would like to strive for in our life. I am drawn to working with folks who want to discover more about themselves (both strengths and areas of growth), their identity, their relationships, their role in the world, and how to lead a fulfilling, meaningful life. I value the opportunity to think together with clients about how therapy could be most helpful for them. I am well-suited to work with people who are looking for meaningful and measurable change in their life.

I believe therapy can serve as a potent and powerful conduit for healing, a place where you can say the things that you often don't, a cozy nest for sharing your most vulnerable self in search of hope and meaning, a platform for decision-making and action as you forge your way through change and growth. Our suffering is often the result of old behaviors, old traumas, old ways of thinking that we cling to in fear. And I believe that each individual is unique, with strengths, hopes, and challenges. I have extensive experience in life transitions, trauma, addiction and recovery, and building a life of meaning and joy.

Often times in life, hardship and trauma force us to sever the connection to our authentic self in order to survive. This may show up in your life as anxiety or depression, difficulty in managing your emotions, or maybe it's just noticing that it's a little harder to make it through each day. Whatever needs may be seeking your attention, I am here to offer empathetic and compassionate support. My goal in working with clients is to help them discover ways they can leave survival mode behind and regain access to their intuition and authentic self.

Hi there! I’m Megan, a fellow parent who knows how hard it can be. I’m also deeply committed to understanding what underlies the behavior in our children that hinders their growth into the resilient, confident, and kind adults they have the potential to be. I have 15 years of experience working with children and families in all sorts of capacities and settings. I know all too well how kids with challenging behaviors or high anxiety can slip through the cracks, get labeled “defiant,” or just start to internalize the belief that they’re a bad kid. The truth is there’s no such thing. Kids do well when they can – and so do parents!

Hello, we are accepting new patients! Whether you're feeling down or anxious, struggling with hurtful and dysfunctional familial dynamics, having difficulty achieving a healthy work-life balance and/or enduring or wanting to heal from past or current traumas, you have found an ally. Developmental, relational and attachment trauma disconnects us from ourselves, our loved ones and even our spirituality. These types of traumas can leave us feeling isolated, unfulfilled and despondent. We all deserve to feel at peace - and that begins by learning how to heal.

I am accepting new clients for in-person therapy in Seattle and virtual therapy for all of Washington state. I help individuals and couples navigate unresolved issues related to anxiety, trauma, high-stress work environments, burnout, difficult life transitions, perfectionism, and relational challenges. Appearing like you "have it all together” can look so easy on the outside, when really you’re struggling deeply inside but feel you can’t break down because others are counting on you and you’ve set high expectations for yourself. If this is you, I get it. Or maybe you're a couple who is needing extra help in your relationship.

I support adults navigating a variety of issues, including chronic pain and chronic illness, dissociative conditions, depression and grief, complex trauma, relationship challenges, searches for meaning, and family of origin concerns. Trained in depth psychology, I am an ideal fit for anyone who is engaged in the process of self-understanding, curious about life, and seeking to be known. I believe the potential for deep healing, connection, and revitalization exists within this work. My approach, while holistic, is rooted in relational psychoanalysis and the belief that talking—about questions and issues that matter—leads to change.

I use an integrative relational style incorporating psychodynamic and Eastern psychological perspectives in honoring a client's experience and recognizing their strengths as well as their potential for growth.
During our lives, we encounter experiences that can move us away from a direct connection to ourselves. Influences from family, friends, peers, jobs, and the greater culture can affect how we view and express ourselves. We can become conditioned to thinking, feeling and behaving in a way that is incompatible with who we really are and what we want in our lives. This compromises our ability to value our unique identity and to express and apply ourselves, and our strengths. I will help you to identify, understand and remove barriers that are keeping you from realizing your fullest potential. I offer Telehealth only in California.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I specialize in individual, couples and family therapy with mental health diagnoses as well as relational conflicts. I strongly believe that family is the fundamental yet the most important and influential factor for each individual's physical and emotional well being. Together, we will work to address unhealthy relational patterns, restore trust, grow intimacy and improve communication.
**CURRENTLY OFFERING TELETHERAPY SESSIONS in ARIZONA & WASHINGTON** Relationships can be challenging, particularly the ones that are most important to us. We want to feel known, connected and loved but often end up hurt and lonely, stuck in patterns which aren't working. Relational pain can show up as anxiety, fear, depression or grief among other things. I have extensive training in Psychodyamic Therapy. I have also learned directly from masters in the field of Couples Therapy: John & Julie Gottman and Phil Ringstrom to address these very issues.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
