My specialty is Children and Adolescents. The children I see often have difficulty with impulsivity and self-regulation; with anxiety, depression and low esteem; are unable to attend or focus. They feel the torment of social anxiety and isolation from peers. Often kids get so discouraged, disappointed or frustrated at school or home that they either give up and withdraw or resort to any number of behaviors that hurt them or get them into trouble. Inside, children want to do well, to succeed, to please others and to feel loved. This may seem impossible to them when confronted with so much overstimulation in themselves and in life.
Children and young people feel the pains, griefs, losses, uncertainties, fears - the "everythings" in the world today. They seem to respond very well when I listen to, receive and accept whatever they present to me. Together we can then learn what would help them to be able to trust and balance their own natural ability to feel better, cope, and communicate.
Modern children take in things at a sensory level that would baffle, confuse, exhaust and overwhelm most adults. There is a powerful connection between how a kid feels and how they act. As they begin to feel better, they can then BE better - and they are so relieved! Kids of all abilities are welcomed, as are all Young, Mid and Late-life Adults.
