Trauma and difficult life experiences can shatter your world. You might feel overwhelmed by the past. You may question your judgment, your self-worth, and even your sanity. You may blame yourself for what happened or believe you are "dirty" or "damaged goods." Relationships feel dangerous, and intimacy difficult. And on top of that, you may struggle with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Finally, you found the courage to rediscover your voice and self-worth. You want to find someone who truly understands the depth of your pain and can help you reclaim your life.
I take a non-pathologizing approach. I will not see you as "sick" or "crazy," but I will collaborate with you to help you uncover unhelpful patterns, beliefs, and feelings, understand how to improve your relationships with yourself and others, and find new coping skills to heal and live your most authentic and fulfilling life. I use EMDR within my practice.
Being in therapy can be overwhelming and scary. For that reason, in our work together, I place a high value on the relationship we develop together.
